PART ONE: OFFICIAL RCCG PRAYER POINTS – DAY 27
Prayer Focus – Wisdom To Run My Life This Year
1 Kings 13:5-12
The altar also was split apart and the ashes were poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of the LORD. Then the king said to the man of God, “Please entreat the favor of the LORD your God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored to me.” So the man of God entreated the LORD, and the king’s hand was restored to him, and became as before. Then the king said to the man of God, “Come home with me and refresh yourself, and I will give you a reward.” But the man of God said to the king, “If you were to give me half your house, I would not go in with you; nor would I eat bread nor drink water in this place. For so it was commanded me by the word of the LORD, saying, ‘You shall not eat bread, nor drink water, nor return by the same way you came.'” So he went another way and did not return by the way he came to Bethel. Now an old prophet dwelt in Bethel, and his sons came and told him all the deeds that the man of God had done that day in Bethel; they also told their father the words he had spoken to the king. And their father said to them, “Which way did he go?” For his sons had seen which way the man of God who came from Judah had gone.
James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

PART TWO: COMMENTARY ON DAY 27 – WISDOM TO RUN MY LIFE THIS YEAR
Introduction: The Indispensable Need for Wisdom
As we approach the final days of this fasting journey, Day 27 directs our attention to one of the most essential requirements for a successful life: WISDOM. Not just knowledge, not just information, not just intelligence—but wisdom. The ability to apply knowledge correctly. The capacity to make right decisions. The skill to navigate life’s complexities.
The prayer focus is specific: “Wisdom to run my life this year.” This acknowledges that life is not automatic. It requires management, direction, and guidance. Without wisdom, we stumble. Without wisdom, we make costly mistakes. Without wisdom, we repeat errors. But with wisdom, we run our lives effectively, efficiently, and successfully.
The Scripture Foundation: 1 Kings 13:5-12
This passage tells the story of a man of God who received specific instructions from the Lord and obeyed them faithfully—until he encountered an old prophet who deceived him. The result was disaster. The man of God died because he listened to a voice other than God’s.
The lessons are profound:
Specific Divine Instructions – The man of God knew exactly what God had said: no eating, no drinking, no returning by the same way. He had clear direction.
Testing of Obedience – The king offered a reward. The old prophet offered contrary counsel. Both tested his commitment to God’s word.
The Cost of Disobedience – When he listened to the wrong voice, he paid with his life.
This passage underscores the critical importance of receiving and obeying divine instructions. Wisdom is not just knowing what God said but doing what God said—and discerning when someone is speaking against God’s word, even if they appear to be a prophet.
The Scripture Foundation: James 1:5
James provides the simplest and most direct promise about wisdom: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
This verse reveals:
The Acknowledgment of Lack – We must admit that we need wisdom. Pride denies need; humility acknowledges it.
The Source of Supply – Wisdom comes from God, not from human intellect alone.
The Manner of Giving – God gives LIBERALLY (generously, abundantly) and WITHOUT REPROACH (no scolding, no “you should have known better”).
The Certainty of Receiving – “It will be given.” Not maybe. Not perhaps. It WILL be given.
Understanding Wisdom
Wisdom in Scripture is more than intelligence. It is:
Practical Skill – The ability to live life well. Bezalel was filled with wisdom to craft the tabernacle (Exodus 31:3).
Moral Discernment – The capacity to distinguish right from wrong. Solomon asked for wisdom to judge the people (1 Kings 3:9).
Spiritual Insight – The ability to understand God’s ways and purposes. Daniel had wisdom to interpret dreams (Daniel 2:20-21).
Strategic Thinking – The wisdom to plan and execute effectively. Joseph demonstrated wisdom in storing grain for seven years of famine (Genesis 41:33-36).
The Prayer Points Explained
Point 1: Thanksgiving for Past Wisdom
We begin by thanking God for the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding that have brought us this far. Gratitude positions us to receive more.
Point 2: Heavenly Wisdom and Revelation
We ask for wisdom from above (James 3:17), not earthly wisdom. This wisdom is pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits. We also ask for opened understanding and the spirit of revelation.
Point 3: Divine Instructions
We need specific instructions from God for this year. What should we do? Where should we go? What decisions should we make? We ask God to release these instructions.
Point 4: Deep and Secret Things
God reveals deep and secret things (Daniel 2:22). We ask to be taught mysteries—things hidden from the wise and prudent but revealed to babes.
Point 5: Removal from the Book of Failures
This is a bold prayer: that our names would not be associated with failure and foolishness. That we would be delivered from repeating the mistakes of the past.
Point 6: Guidance to Follow Wisdom’s Path
Wisdom is a path. We ask God to guide our hearts to stay on that path, always doing good, always walking in righteousness.
Point 7: Freshness of the Holy Spirit
Wisdom without power is incomplete. We ask for the freshness of the Holy Spirit—new fire, new oil, new anointing for greater exploits.
Point 8: Strategic Wisdom for Success
We need wisdom to be strategic—to plan wisely, to pursue rightly, to execute effectively. This prayer asks for wisdom that produces success.
Point 9: Wisdom That Keeps from Errors
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). This wisdom keeps us from errors, defeats, frustrations, and disappointments.
Point 10: Wisdom That Makes Us Excel
Like Daniel who distinguished himself above others (Daniel 6:3), we ask for wisdom that makes us excel—to stand out, to be excellent, to be exceptional.
Point 11: Wisdom That Delivers in Tribulation
In times of trouble, wisdom delivers. It provides escape routes, survival strategies, and victory plans. We ask for this wisdom.
Point 12: Wisdom for the Tongue
The tongue has power of life and death (Proverbs 18:21). We need wisdom to speak the right words at the right times—words that heal, bless, and build.
Point 13: Wisdom for Stewardship
We ask for wisdom to use what we have—time, talents, treasures—to the best advantage for the future. This is wisdom for investment, planning, and preparation.
Point 14: Wisdom That Strengthens the Inner Man
Wisdom is not just external; it strengthens the inner man. It makes the face radiant (Ecclesiastes 8:1). It builds character and deepens spiritual capacity.
Point 15: Wisdom for Landmark Success
We end with a prayer for landmark success—success that is notable, memorable, and significant. Not ordinary success but landmark success that marks a turning point.

I ask for wisdom, and I receive it. You give liberally and without reproach. Thank You, Father.
In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
PART FIVE: CLOSING THOUGHTS
As we approach the final day of this fasting journey, let us prioritize wisdom above all else. Knowledge puffs up, but wisdom builds up. Information abounds, but insight is rare. Intelligence is common, but discernment is precious.
Ask God for wisdom. He gives liberally. He does not scold. He does not withhold. He delights in giving wisdom to those who ask.
With wisdom, you will run your life well this year. With wisdom, you will avoid pitfalls. With wisdom, you will make right decisions. With wisdom, you will excel.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. And wisdom is the principal thing. Get wisdom. Get understanding.
