RCCG HOUSE FELLOWSHIP LEADERS’ MANUAL – 24 MAY 2026
LESSON THIRTY SEVEN (38)
TOPIC: RETURN ON INVESTMENT
HOUSE FELLOWSHIP ANTHEM
(Stanzas 1–5 as printed in the manual)
OPENING PRAYER:
Father, please do not allow me to disappoint you in fulfilling your plans for my life.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE:
Leaders should remind members of the discussion on the dangers of making costly mistakes, with biblical examples.
MEMORY VERSE:
“Take therefore the talent from him and give it unto him which hath ten talents?” — Matthew 25:28
BIBLE TEXT:
-
Galatians 6:7-9 (Sowing and reaping)
-
Matthew 25:26-30 (Parable of the talents)
LESSON INTRODUCTION:
God demands a return on His investment in every creation. Idleness and lack of diligence toward God’s purpose may incur His wrath. A diligent man will sit with kings. God’s input in His children must be rewarded with great harvest. A careless child of God who does not use his talents will secure great punishment.
LESSON AIM:
To reveal to members the benefits of bringing a return on divine investment and the dangers of failing to do so.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson, members should know:
-
God’s expectation of His investment in us.
-
Man’s expectation of God’s investment in us.
TEXT REVIEW (Matthew 25:26-30):
-
He who uses well what he is given shall be given more.
-
The unfaithful servant will lose what he has to the faithful one.
LESSON OUTLINE ONE: GOD’S EXPECTATION ON HIS INVESTMENT
-
Use your talents to increase His kingdom.
-
Defend His right in the midst of wolves and the ungodly.
-
Activate divine response through positive declaration when facing difficult situations.
-
Let your ways please God so that your enemies will be at peace with you.
-
Wisely save and invest for the future while also being rich toward God.
-
Little gathering in God will increase, but wealth gained hastily will dwindle (Proverbs 21:20).
LESSON OUTLINE TWO: MAN’S EXPECTATION OF GOD’S INVESTMENT IN US
-
Romans 8:19 – Creation waits earnestly for God’s sons to be revealed.
-
Examples: Israelites waited 40 days for a solution to Goliath (1 Samuel 17); they waited for redemption at the Red Sea (Exodus 14).
-
Men depend on God’s children for solutions; when we offer solutions, God is glorified and receives His return.
Biblical examples of man’s expectations met through God’s investment:
a. Deborah and Barak – delivered Israel from Jabin and Sisera (Judges 4:4-24)
b. Moses – rescued Israel from the Egyptians
c. Joshua – brought down the walls of Jericho
d. Peter – brought salvation to Cornelius’ household (Acts 10)
e. Elijah – stopped the ravaging curse (Joshua 6:26; 1 Kings 16:34)
SUMMARY:
The purpose of every child of God is to make a profit on God’s investment. When you are not attaining that goal, there is provision for punishment.
CONCLUSION:
“And behold, I come quickly, and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” — Revelation 22:12
WEEKLY ACTIVITY:
Biblical examples of those who reaped bad vs. good investments (to be discussed by members).
