RCCG Open Heaven 11 October 2026 Daily Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye – JUST ONE BREAKTHROUGH
Topic: JUST ONE BREAKTHROUGH

Memorise:
Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
— Psalm 112:3 (KJV)
Read: Psalm 37:23-29 (KJV)
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
28 For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
RCCG Open Heavens 11 October 2026 Today Message by Pastor E.A. Adeboye
Growing up, my father was so poor that even poor people called him poor. However, at that time, I had a friend whose father was poorer than mine. As poor as my father was, he was still able to gather enough money to send me to school for the first two years of my studies. This friend of mine, on the other hand, could not even enrol in school because his father had no money to sponsor him.
Whenever other children went to school, my friend would go around looking for a place to work. One day, someone gave him a task to clear a piece of land outside the town. While he was working, he struck something that was buried in the ground, and when he checked it, he discovered that it was a large pot filled with gold coins. The pot must have been buried several years before then, when people preferred to bury their valuables rather than take them to banks.
When my friend picked up the pot, he looked left and right, but there was nobody around him. Then, he took all the coins and went home. He took one of the coins to a goldsmith, who examined it and told him how much he was willing to pay for it. The amount was so huge that the boy exclaimed, “Ah!” The goldsmith thought that the boy knew the true value of the coin and that his exclamation was because he knew he was about to be cheated, so he said, “Alright, I will pay you double.” The boy responded again, “Ah, ah!” The goldsmith continued to bargain, and eventually, he promised to pay him five times the initial offer. The boy could not believe his luck. The goldsmith asked further, “Do you have more?” The boy replied, “Yes.” Not long after that, my friend left the village because he had now become very wealthy.
Beloved, just one divine breakthrough can transform your life for good. One of my spiritual sons lost his job, and God told him to start selling peanuts. God’s instruction, however, was for him to fry the peanuts with honey. From selling peanuts, he became so wealthy that he was able to buy private jets. When God gives you a breakthrough, you will move to a level you never even thought you could attain. However, to get that breakthrough from God, you must be intimate with Him enough to hear His instructions and obey them.
Prayer Point:
Lord, please open my eyes to see where my breakthrough is, in Jesus’ name.
Bible in One Year:
Matthew 25-26
Hymn: There Shall Be Showers of Blessing
Verse 1:
There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.
Chorus:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.
Verse 2:
There shall be showers of blessing,
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.
(Chorus)
Verse 3:
There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come, and now honor Thy Word.
(Chorus)
Verse 4:
There shall be showers of blessing,
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
(Chorus)
Open Heaven Devotional 11 October 2026 Commentary
Theme: The Burden Bearer can transform your life with just one breakthrough. A single divine encounter, one instruction obeyed, one open door—can change everything. But breakthrough requires intimacy with God.
Major Keywords: Just one breakthrough, divine discovery, honey-fried peanuts, intimacy before breakthrough, obedience unlocks abundance.
Commentary Summary:
-
A Poor Boy’s Divine Discovery: Daddy’s childhood friend, too poor for school, found a buried pot of gold coins while clearing land. One discovery ended years of poverty. God can do in a second what you could not do in a lifetime.
-
From Peanuts to Private Jets: A spiritual son lost his job. God told him to sell peanuts—fried with honey. He obeyed and became wealthy enough to buy private jets. Ordinary instructions produce extraordinary results when God is in them.
-
Intimacy Comes Before Breakthrough: The instruction to fry peanuts with honey came because the man had a relationship with God. If he hadn’t been listening, he would have missed it. Breakthroughs come to those close enough to hear God’s voice.
-
Key Truth: Your breakthrough may be closer than you think. Stay intimate with God. Listen for His voice. Obey every instruction—even the small ones. One breakthrough can change everything.
Reference to Theme: This message, JUST ONE BREAKTHROUGH, reminds you that you are one divine encounter away from a completely different life. Don’t despise small beginnings. Don’t ignore simple instructions. God is about to turn your story around.
Action Steps:
-
Cultivate Intimacy with God: Spend time in prayer and the Word daily. Ask God to speak to you about your breakthrough. Learn to recognise His voice.
-
Obey Every Instruction, No Matter How Small: If God tells you to do something—even something that seems insignificant—do it. Your obedience may be the doorway to your miracle.
-
Refuse to Despise Small Beginnings: Don’t look down on where you are now. God often starts small to end big. Stay faithful. Stay hopeful.
