TEXT: EPHESIANS 5:3; 1 PETER 4:1-3.
EPHESIANS 5:3.
3. But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.
1 PETER 4:1-3.
1. Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin.
2. As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.
3. For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry.
TOPIC: PROMISCUITY.
MESSAGE:
Promiscuity is indiscriminate sexual intercourse, often with many people. Promiscuity is one sin that devastates and destroys our bodies and spiritual lives (see 1 Corinthians 6:18). Sexual immorality may seem pleasurable, but is actually harmful. Its harmful effects include: sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), soul ties, marriages are affected or broken, mistrust and suspicion. Promiscuity also affects the church’s testimony to the world. The Scripture warns against these sinful desires and practices. Jesus suffered in the body to liberate the believer from promiscuity. The believer must detest and avoid former way of life and imitate Jesus by living a holy and righteous life. Who are your companions? Remember, bad company corrupts good character (1 Corinthians 15:33).
REFLECTION:
The sexual immoral knows no peace.
PRAYER:
Lord, help me to have victory over sexual sin. Amen.
MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH: JAMES 4:1
What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you?.
