SUB-THEME: THE CROSS OF JESUS.
TOPIC: THE CROSS ENRICHES.
TEXT: 2 CORINTHIANS 8:8-9.
8 I am not commanding you but testing the genuineness of your love by the enthusiasm of others.
9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah. Although he was rich, for your sakes he became poor, so that you, through his poverty, might become rich. Luk 9:58.
TOPIC: THE CROSS ENRICHES.
MESSAGE:
In Christ we are made rich. Giving enriches the receiver yet does not impoverish the giver. God is the giver of all good things. Thus, the greatest riches one can have are those that come from the finished work of Jesus on the cross. From the reading, the Corinthian church is compared with the Macedonian church which had the grace of giving. Paul urged the believers in Corinth to excel in giving as a replica of what Jesus did on the cross for them. He exchanged their poverty with his riches, life for death and guaranteed them eternal life. Are you enjoying God’s true riches? Know that by accepting him into your life and situation is the way to access these riches. If you have not, do so now.
REFLECTION:
You have been made rich through Christ.
PRAYER:
Father, thank you for making me rich through the cross. Amen.
MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH: HEBREWS 12:2
