FRIDAY, 14TH APRIL, 2023 SUB-THEME: THE CROSS OF JESUS.
TOPIC: RECONCILES I.
FRIDAY, 14TH APRIL, 2023.
SUB-THEME: THE CROSS OF JESUS.
TOPIC: RECONCILES I.
TEXT: ROMANS 5:9-11.
9 Now that we have been justified by his blood, how much more will we be saved from wrath through him!
10 For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life!
11 Not only that, but we also continue to boast about God through our Lord Jesus the Messiah, through whom we have now been reconciled.
TOPIC: RECONCILES I.
MESSAGE:
Enemies can only be reconciled when common grounds are established. Humanity became God’s enemy via the sin of Adam. God took the initiative to reconcile man to himself through the second Adam, Jesus Christ. The ground for this reconciliation is His Blood that was shed on the cross where he was crucified and he died. This reconciliation brought salvation and peace between man and God. Some people think that they can be reconciled to God outside of Christ. They engage in works, self-discipline, abstinence from certain foods and activities and following some self-acclaimed prophets and not knowing that without Christ, they remain enemies of God. Have you been reconciled to God through Christ? If not, accept him now and do not wait for another day.
REFLECTION:
Reinstate your friendship with God through Christ.
PRAYER:
Father, thank you for your ever willingness to receive me back. Amen.
MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH: HEBREWS 12:2
“…who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God”.
TODAY’S READING PLAN: 2 KINGS 23-25.
