TOPIC: LIVING TO PLEASE GOD.
MESSAGE:
Human beings are self-centred above being God-centred. Therefore, living to please God goes with a price. To please God, you must fear him, detest sin, avoid evil and cling to righteousness.
When your ways are pleasing to the Lord, you will not only enjoy his peace, but he will also make even your enemies to live at peace with you. Recall that Asa, king of Judah, pleased God and wars ceased during his reign (2 Chronicles 14:5-7). You too can be the means of peace in your home, church and community by doing what is right.
Are you God- centred or self-centred?
Be warned, God detests and punishes the proud. So, humble yourself and repent of any sin. This will earn you the favour of God and of those around you.
REFLECTION:
God favours those who please him.
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, I resolve to live a life that pleases you. Amen.
MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH: 1 SAMUEL 25:34.
” 34 For as surely as the LORD God of Israel lives, the one who restrained me from harming you—indeed, had you not quickly come to meet me, by dawn there wouldn’t be a single male left to Nabal.”
TODAY’S BIBLE READING: PSALMS 42-49.
