King of all kings, we are grateful to You. We thank You for another opportunity to study at Your feet. We worship Your name for who You are and how You are doing things in our generation, what a good, great and mighty God, please, accept our thanks in the name of Jesus. We thank You Oh God for bringing us to Your table today again, we ask that You will teach us together. I confess my ignorance; i don’t know anything, but Lord with Your strength, i can do all things. So, Father, by the strength of God that can do all things, enable me Oh God to do things for the glory of the name of God. TEXT – 1 TIMOTHY CHAPTER 6

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

There is a tremendous difference between money and the love for money.

Many of the evils that happen in the world have connection with money and people who love money.

John 14:6 God is the truth.

God wants you to have possession but He didn’t want the possession to have you.

LOVE FOR MONEY can be defined as an intense and selfish desire to get more money.

Money is simply a symbol that stands for human resource; money stands for what you can get from man.

The love of money is the same as faith in money.

The love of money is trust, confidence, belief and assurance in money.

Love of money is the alternative faith in God’s future grace.

i.They are obsessed with becoming rich.

vi. Their loyalties are divided.

Love for money is deceptive.

You can be wealthy, but it won’t extend your life if you get terminal disease.

Money can’t give you a passport to heaven.

Money can’t bring true happiness.

3. THE DESTRUCTION BY MONEY.

There is danger when you love money badly and allows it to motivate your action. This will take christian off the line.

Jeremiah 11:29.

4 HOW TO STOP LOVING MONEY?

i. Make heaven your priority.

Matthew 6:33

1 Timothy 6:11-15, Luke 10:27.

ii. Be content with what you have, avoid greed and covetousness.

Exodus 20:17.

Luke 12:15.

2 Timothy 3:2.

iii. Differentiate between your needs and wants.

iv. Acknowledge the vanity of riches.

Ecclesiates 1:2.

Ecclesiates 12:8.

v. Be a giver and operate the kingdom’s financial principle.

1 Timothy 6:18

The love of money is the root of many evill.

The desire for money will deceive and ultimately destroy.
