Glory to Jesus! Welcome to our special coverage of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Holy Ghost Congress 2025, themed “The God of All Flesh.” If you missed the electrifying Day 2 Evening Session on December 9, 2025, or want to revisit the powerful word, you’re in the right place. Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of RCCG, delivered a life-transforming message titled “Jonah Must Go!” Drawing from the timeless Book of Jonah, Daddy GO unpacked how hidden obstacles in our lives—much like the reluctant prophet—can stir up storms and derail our divine destiny. This wasn’t just a sermon; it was a divine summons to self-examination, repentance, and radical obedience.

The session, held at the Redemption Camp in Nigeria, was a blend of fervent worship, prophetic declarations, and unyielding calls to action. As the choir led with soul-stirring praises exalting God as the “Great I AM” and “Controller of all flesh,” the atmosphere thickened with expectancy. Pastor Adeboye, stepping to the pulpit with his signature humility and fire, read Jonah Chapter 1 aloud, setting the stage for a message that resonated with thousands in attendance and millions watching online.

The Heart of the Message: Why “Jonah Must Go”?

Pastor Adeboye began by affirming God’s sovereignty: “There is nothing too hard for the God of all flesh. Nothing, nothing, nothing at all.”

Referencing Jeremiah 32:27 (“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?”), he reminded us that the same God who commands winds, seas, and even great fish holds absolute power over every “Jonah” in our boat—the internal saboteurs causing divine resistance.

Biblical Foundation: The Parable of Jonah

The sermon is anchored in Jonah 1:1-17:
God’s Call (vv. 1-2): “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.” Jonah, a prophet, flees to Tarshish instead—running from his assignment out of fear, prejudice, or unbelief.
The Storm (vv. 3-10): A violent tempest arises, threatening the ship. The sailors cast lots, revealing Jonah as the cause. “Why is the wind blowing against me?” Pastor Adeboye asked, mirroring the sailors’ panic.
The Solution (vv. 11-16): Jonah instructs, “Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea.” Upon his removal, the sea calms, and the men fear the Lord.
Divine Intervention (v. 17): God prepares a great fish to swallow Jonah, not to destroy, but to deliver—foreshadowing repentance in the belly (Jonah 2) and a second chance (Jonah 3).

This isn’t just ancient history; it’s a mirror for today. “Jonah must go!” thundered Daddy GO, because your personal “Jonah” is anything turning your favorable winds into a gale—stalling progress, breeding sickness, or inviting loss.

Key Points: Spotting and Slaying Your Jonah

Pastor Adeboye masterfully diagnosed the symptoms and prescribed the cure, urging us to “do something about these before they do something about you.”

Here’s the breakdown:

  1. Symptoms of a Jonah in Your Life

– Sudden retardation in progress: You’re running hard, but getting nowhere.
– Becoming a burden: Friends dodge your calls because your problems are overwhelming.
– Joining the “club of the sick”: Unexplained illnesses or recurring pains.
– Heavy losses: The harder you work, the poorer you get.
– Constant worry: Over jobs, promotions, enemies, or “every little thing.”

Ask yourself tonight: Why the divine resistance? What stranger is in my boat?

  1. Common Jonahs to Cast Out

Unbelief and Doubt: You know “with God all things are possible,” but past delays make you question. “Once God has spoken, it is already done.”

(Mark 9:23)
Fear: Of death, attack, kidnapping, or failure. “There was a time when we used to look forward to dying for God.”

(Philippians 1:21 – “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”)
Lies and Deception: White lies, business exaggerations, or prepared falsehoods for the year-end. “You have white lies and business lies.”

  • Immoral Thoughts and Relationships: Lingering fantasies or ties that pull you from God. “If you’re going to become what God wants you to become, Jonah must go.”

(Matthew 5:29-30 – Pluck out the eye or cut off the hand that causes sin.)
Laziness and Neglect: Resting when you should work; not studying the Bible, witnessing, or following up on souls won. “Failure to be at war at a time when kings are supposed to be at war, whereas you’re sleeping at home.”

  • Toxic Friendships: Associations where “you can’t think about God.” “Anything that can truncate your destiny… Must go.”

  • Sin (For the Unsaved): The ultimate Jonah. “If you haven’t surrendered your life to Jesus, the first Jonah that must go is your sin.”

  1. How to Deal with It: Radical Obedience

Examine and Declare: Stand and shout, “Jonah must go!” Name it—unbelief, fear, lies—and cast it out like the sailors did Jonah.
Repent in the ‘Fish’s Belly’: Your crisis is God’s classroom. Pray like Jonah (Jonah 2:1-10): “Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord.”
Trust God’s Control: He prepares the fish, the storm, and the deliverance. “God of all flesh, nothing is greater than your name.”

  • Act Decisively: Sack that tempting secretary (as in Pastor Adeboye’s anecdotes), end ungodly ties, or surrender at the altar. Delay invites destruction.

Real-Life Examples That Hit Home

Daddy GO wove in vivid illustrations to drive the points:
A Pastor’s Temptation: A young pastor, thrilled to see his secretary on Mondays, was advised to fire her immediately. Another ignored it, married her, only to discover his children weren’t his—church crumbled, destiny truncated.
Fearless Ministry: In dangerous nations, Pastor Adeboye preached to heads of state, ready to “die on duty,” without a trace of fear. Contrast that with today’s “atom of doubt.”

  • Prophetic Fulfillment: God promised him a “city”—vast land for RCCG HQ—and a house on 14 acres. No doubt; pure obedience.
  • The Sailors’ Salvation: Jonah’s removal didn’t just calm the sea; it led the pagans to fear the Lord (Jonah 1:16). Your breakthrough blesses others!

Prophetic Declarations and Prayers: Fire from Heaven

The altar call was electric—a countdown from 10 for salvation, with hundreds responding. Pastor Adeboye prayed:
“Father, have mercy on me. Save my soul. Let sin go completely out of my life… I promise to serve you wholeheartedly.”

Prophecies:
– “Your season of tears/weeping is over. The yoke is broken.”

  • Sicknesses (cancer, tumors, migraines) melt away; the blind see, lame walk, dead rise.
  • Jordan divides; Goliaths fall; barns fill with plenty (Proverbs 3:9-10).
  • “By sunrise, every Jonah terminating your destiny is gone.”

  • A new dimension of anointing for ministry—miracles in America, UK, and beyond.

Closing Prayer: Lift your hands and pray: Lord, send help for the hard decisions. Expel every Jonah. Let my time come for victory over problems. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Final Call: Your Jonah Ends Tonight

Beloved, the God of all flesh declares: “My time has come for victory over problems.”

Don’t let disobedience sink your ship. Examine your heart, repent, obey—and watch the storm cease. As the official HGC account tweeted live: “TONIGHT, JONAH MUST GO! ANYTHING CAUSING YOU DIVINE RESISTANCE MUST GO!”
