[97]MEM. O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.

CENTRAL TRUTH: Meditating on God’s word helps our mental wellbeing

INTRODUCTION: The word ‘mental’ describes anything that has to do with the mind. “Mind” is not the same as the brain. Our brain has all the wiring, storage, memory and processing power we need to function as human being. The mind consists of mental states such as thoughts emotions, beliefs, attitudes, and images. The brain is the hardware and the mind is the software. It’s the operating system that gathers, stores and manages information.

There are three key points to note from Psalm 119:97; Loving, obeying and meditating on God’s word. Doing these regularly will improve our mental wellbeing.

Life Application: Meditate on this verse and apply it, then you will see it working for you -“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success” (Joshua 1:8).

CONCLUSION: Daniel 1:20. And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm. You too can be like Daniel if you will observe to do all that have been discussed today.
