RCCG JUNIOR ZEAL (AGE 6-8) TEACHER’S MANUAL SUNDAY 6TH OF JUNE 2021 LESSON FORTY (40)
TOPIC: BE AT PEACE WITH OTHERS
BIBLE TEXT: MATTHEW 5:6
[6]Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.
MEMORY VERSE: Colossians 3:15 “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.”
LESSON AIM: The children will learn to help bring others to God and to do their best to get along with everyone.
CHILD RELATED TRUTH: Children of God are peacemakers.
INTRODUCTION: What does it mean to be a peacemaker? (Allow students to answer.) A peacemaker makes peace. Peace means calm,
getting along, or nit fighting. When a country 1s in a time of peace, it means, it is not at war with any other country. Sometimes your mom may
ask you and your siblings to calm down and stop fighting so she can have some peace. She wants you all to get along. So a peacemaker is someone who helps everyone to get along without fighting.
PROGRESSION OF EVENTS: God talks to us from the bible about peacemakers.
1. God bless those who make peace by calling them His children (Matthew 5:9)
2. Jesus is the Prince of peace (Isaiah 9:6)
GOSPEL CONNECTION: Our sinfulness causes us to be “at war” with God; that is the wrong things we think, say, and do, cause us to be against God. We need someone who can solve our problem. We need someone who can save us from being an enemy of God. We need a peacemaker. And that peacemaker is Jesus. God, in His great mercy and love, sent his only Son, Jesus, to earth to right all the wrongs, to die for you and me, to take your punishment for sin,
and to overcome death by rising from the dead.
3. He wants us to be at peace with everyone (Colossians 1:19-20)
4. We make peace by loving our neighbours (Mark 12:30-31)
5. When we are focused on God, it is easier for us to be peacemakers
6. God wants everyone to be at peace with Him.
CLIMAX: Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord (Hebrew 12:14).
CONCLUSION: We make peace with God through the blood that Jesus shed on the cross.
CHALLENGE: When we ask God to forgive our sins and then do our best to follow Jesus and trust him, we will be at peace with God. God doesn’t want us to be his enemies. He wants us to be His Forever Friends!
More than that, He wants us to be His children. However, we must first receive God’s wonderful forgiveness before we can be at peace with Him. We need Jesus, our Peacemaker, to make peace with God for us. When we trust that Jesus died to take the punishment for our sins, He becomes our Peacemaker, which means we’re no longer enemies of God and in danger of eternal harm; we become His children and are safe in Him. Now, as you are now a follower of Jesus, be a peacemaker in school, at home, in bible club, and Sunday School. Always thank God for
making you a peacemaker.
INVITATION: The Bible says we are God’s enemies and you can only make peace with God with the blood Jesus shed on the cross to save you from your sins (Romans 5:10).
