MESSAGE TOPIC: STANDING IN THE GAP
SCRIPTURAL EXAMPLES OF THOSE THAT STOOD IN THE GAP FOR NATIONS:
1. Abraham stood in the gap for Sodom and Gomorrah and God heard him (Gen. 18:17-25)
2. Nehemiah stood in the gap for the sins of His people and God heard him, and the shame of the nation was rolled away (Neh. 1:1-11, 6:15)
3. Elijah stood in the gap for Israel and the whole nation returned back to God (1 Kings 18:24-29)
BENEFITS OF STANDING IN THE GAP:
1. Those who stand in the gap for their nations get established in Divine prosperity (Ps. 122:6)
2. Those who stand in the gap for their nations are established in Divine peace (Jer. 29:7)
PRAYERS:
Father, thank You for setting in disarray every gang-up of hell against the growth of the church of Christ in this nation, Lord in Jesus’ Name – Matt. 16:18.
Father, forgive us the sin of a defiled conscience that can no longer differentiate between good and evil, Lord in Jesus Name – Tit. 1:15.
Father, forgive this nation of the sin of kidnapping and shedding of innocent blood by the terrorist groups and other selected individuals that are behind the scenes sponsoring these acts of the wicked, Lord in Jesus Name – 2 Chron. 7:14.
Father, we come against the scourge of corruption in Nigeria, thereby rewriting the story of this nation, Lord in Jesus Name – Eph. 5:11.
Father, by the Blood of Jesus, we destroy every force of stagnation and frustration militating against the advancement of our nation Nigeria, Lord in Jesus Name – Ex. 12:12.
Father, via the forthcoming election, give us leaders that will usher this nation into realms of greater peace and prosperity, Lord in Jesus Name – Prov. 29:2.
Father, scatter every agenda of the devil to frustrate the electoral process in the forthcoming elections in Nigeria, Lord in Jesus Name – Isa. 8:9.
Father, we come against every form of electoral malpractice in the forthcoming elections in Nigeria, thereby averting post-election crisis, Lord in Jesus Name – Deut. 32:4.
Father, as an aftermath of this forthcoming election, send us leaders with the required capacity and character that will lead this nation out of the woods, Lord in Jesus Name – Psa. 78:72.
