AGE 13-19 TEACHER’S MANUAL
SUNDAY 19TH OF MARCH, 2023
LESSON TWENTY NINE (29)
*TOPIC: THE REVELATIONAL GIFT 1: WORD OF WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE*
BIBLE TEXT: 1 Corinthians 12:4-12
[4]Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
[5]And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
[6]And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
[7]But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
[8]For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
[9]To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
[10]To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
[11]But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
[12]For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
MEMORY VERSE: Isaiah 11:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
LESSON AIM: For the Teenagers to understand and be able to differentiate between Word of Wisdom and Word of Knowledge.
CENTRAL TRUTH: Knowledge produces wisdom. In each case, God grants spiritual insight and discernment when using the word of wisdom.
INTRODUCTION: The reason they are called the Revelation Gifts is that each one of these gifts reveal something.
STUDY GUIDE
A.) WORD OF WISDOM: The gift of the Word of wisdom is a supernatural gift that is available to the Body of Christ. The “Word of Wisdom” is God’s wisdom pertaining to future events. It is information that only God has pertaining to the future that He imparts to a believer.
You can receive a Word of Wisdom for both yourself and for others. In Acts 21: 10-14, Paul received a Word of wisdom from Agahus concerning what would happen when he went to Jerusalem.
B.) THE SEVEN PILLARS OF WISDOM INCLUDE:
1. Fear of the Lord
2. Instructions
3 Knowledge
4. Understanding
5 Discretion
6. Counsel
7. Reproof
C.) HOW TO GET THE WISDOM OF GOD: There is a difference between “earthly Wisdom” and the “Wisdom that comes from above” James 3: 14-18
1. Desire it and ask God for it….Jam. 1:5
2. Ask in faith without wavering. Jam. 1:6
3. Trust in Christ and yield to the Holy Spirit… 1 Cor. 1:30
4. Have the mind of Christ… 1 Cor. 2:16
5. Have the fear of God.. Prov. 1:7
6 Be humble.. James 3:13
7. Diligently study His words.2 Tim. 2:15
CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Where can we find the seven pillars of wisdom in the Bible.
D. WORDS OF KNOWLEDGE: Like Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge is a supernatural gift. It is God’s knowledge pertaining to events, past and present, given to a Believer
Jesus had the Word of knowledge in operation in John 4 when He told the Samaritan woman at the well that she had five husbands, and the man she was currently living with was not her husband. Jesus knew that because the Holy Spirit told Him.
Remember, Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit when He was baptized in water by John. We are also anointed with the Holy Spirit and power (Acts 1:) and can do the same works that Jesus did.
E.) HOW TO HAVE wORD OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOD:
#Ps. 119..In the reading and understanding of God’s Word
#Ps. 119:97….Meditate on His Words
#ACT which is
A- Apply the truths the Spirit reveals to you as you spend time in the word and seek His presence daily.
C- Change by making the necessary changes in your life for your spiritual gift to manifest. Ask God to reveal His instructions and then obey the Word.
T- Transform, allow the Holy Spirit to transform your faith as you renew your mind. Is.37:20.
CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Differentiate between Word of Wisdom and Word of Knowledge.
LIFE APPLICATION: As children of God, we need to be closer to God so that we can hear and know His mind concerning all situations.
CONCLUSION: Without the Word of Wisdom and Word of Knowledge, a Christian life will be empty, and such can easily become prey to the enemy.
