INTRODUCTION

The year’s theme, “Seeking the Peace of the Land”, places a demand on believers. It is a task to be carried out no matter your status and where you find yourself. In May, we discussed about “People who sought the Peace of the Land”. This month, we shall discuss “The Cost of Seeking Peace”; that is the price or sacrifices needed to pay or make in order to have peace in the land. Remember, Jesus suffered to offer us peace. In the same way, for peace to be realized, someone must be willing to pay the price. As you go through the daily topics, allow God enable you to endure the costs for peace to reign. Amen.
MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH: 1 SAMUEL 25:34.
” 34 For as surely as the LORD God of Israel lives, the one who restrained me from harming you—indeed, had you not quickly come to meet me, by dawn there wouldn’t be a single male left to Nabal.”

TOPIC: THE SACRIFICE OF THE LAMB OF GOD.

TEXT: ISAIAH 53:3-8.
3 “He was despised and rejected by others, and a man of sorrows, intimately familiar with suffering; and like one from whom people hide their faces; and we despised him and did not value him. Psa 22:6-7 Isa 49:7 Isa 52:14 Mar 9:12 [1Pe 1:11]
4 “Surely he has borne our sufferings and carried our sorrows; yet we considered him stricken, and struck down by God, and afflicted. Mat 8:17 [Mar 9:12] [Rom 15:3] [1Pe 2:24]
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, and he was crushed for our iniquities, and the punishment that made us whole was upon him, and by his bruises we are healed. Rom 4:25 1Co 15:3 1Pe 2:24 [Luk 24:26] [Joh 1:29] [Act 3:18] [Rom 3:24] [Rom 8:32]
6 All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned, each of us, to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. [Psa 119:176] [1Pe 2:25]
7 He was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet he didn’t open his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, as a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. Mat 26:63 Mat 27:12 Mat 27:14 Mar 14:61 Mar 15:5 Act 8:32 [Luk 18:31] [Joh 1:29] [Joh 1:36] [1Co 5:7] [1Co 15:3]
8 “From detention and judgment he was taken away— and who can even think about his descendants? For he was cut off from the land of the living, he was stricken for the transgression of my people. [1Co 15:4]
TOPIC: THE SACRIFICE OF THE LAMB OF God.

MESSAGE:

When Adam and Eve chose the path of disobedience by eating the forbidden fruit, they were separated from God because God cannot behold sin. In the Old Testament, animal sacrifices were offered to atone for sin. To restore perfect peace between God and man, God himself provided the way to save the world through his Son, Jesus Christ. The sinless Jesus became the sacrificial Lamb that bore our iniquities and guilt. He suffered rejection, sorrows, oppression, affliction and death. Whoever believes in him is restored to peace with God and with his fellow man. Have you given your life to Jesus? Do not be a wandering sheep while the Good Shepherd is accessible. Plunge into his blood that washes sins away.
REFLECTION:
Accept Jesus so that you can enjoy peace with God.
PRAYER:
Thank you Jesus for paying the price for my sins. Amen.
