TEXT: NUMBERS 6:22-27.
22 Later, the LORD told Moses,
23 “Teach Aaron and his sons to bless the Israelis:
24 May the LORD bless you and guard you.
25 May the LORD’s face enlighten you and bestow favor on you. [Psa 67:1]
26 May the LORD turn to face you, lavishing peace on you!
27 They are to pour out my name to the Israelis while I continue to bless them.”
Daily Walk With Christ COCIN Devotional FRIDAY 3RD FEBRUARY 2023
TOPIC: PRIESTLY BLESSING OF PEACE.

MESSAGE:

You might have sometimes heard your pastor close Sunday services with these words: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.” God desires that his people be blessed and live in peace. This is why Aaron the priest and his sons were instructed to bless the Israelites with those words.
Similarly, pastors being channels of God’s blessings pronounce these priestly blessings of peace upon his people. Unfortunately, many Christians out of familiarity despise such priestly blessings and miss out. So, stay to the end of church services to receive these priestly blessings during the benediction.

REFLECTION:

God uses his Priests to bless his people.
PRAYER:
Oh Lord, turn your face towards me and give me peace. Amen.
MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH: PSALM 122:6-7
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May those who love you be secure.
May there be peace… within your citadels.”
TODAY’S READING PLAN: LEVITICUS 5-7.
