BIBLE TEXT: John 14:16-18
[16]And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
[17]Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.SPECIAL DECREES DURING THE OPENING SESSION OF THE RCCG SEPTEMBER 2022 HOLY GHOST SERVICE(Opens in a new browser tab)
[18]I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
MEMORY VERSE: John 14:26 “But the l Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
CENTRAL TRUTH: The Holy Spirit is the greatest Comforter.
INTRODUCTION: The word ‘Comfort’ reminds us of so many good things we imagine we can have in our times of discomfort and pain. It means a state of physical case and freedom from pain or constraint. Oftentimes, comfort is well appreciated in a time of distress or pain like having a shoulder to cry on or something that will make us forget our cares and worries while giving us a feeling of contentment. This is the role the Holy Spirit plays in our lives. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter, whom Jesus promised to send to His disciples after He was crucified. This Comforter, Jesus said, would guide all believers into all Truth. He would remain forever with us and give us Comfort especially when the journey of salvation is lonely and tough.
