MEMORISE:

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Malachi 3:10

READ: 1 Kings 17:8-16

And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.
10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
12 And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
14 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.
15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.
16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

RCCG OPEN HEAVENS 10 NOVEMBER 2026 TODAY MESSAGE

Jesus gave Himself for us; hence, we should be willing to give our resources to Him. If you are a child of God, you must make up your mind to serve God with everything He has given to you. If He is really the source of everything you own, then you should not hold anything back from Him. Apostle Paul is a good example of someone who understood that his life and all he had were no longer his, but Christ’s. He expressed this clearly in Galatians 2:20:

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

As a child of God, the life you live is no longer yours. Jesus ransomed you with His blood, so nothing should be too much for you to release to Him. In today’s Bible reading, a grievous famine struck the land, and God sent Elijah to a widow in Zarephath to sustain him during the famine. One would have thought that the widow Elijah was going to meet would be a rich woman, but the opposite was the case. She was so poor that all she had was just a meal for herself and her son, yet God asked her to let it go.

Despite her limited resources, when Elijah asked her to make him a meal, she was willing to do so. Her willingness and readiness to surrender all made God multiply what she had. God doesn’t just use people without rewarding them. When you give Him your resources, He will bless you beyond your wildest imagination. There is nothing you give to the Lord that will remain the way it is; it will be multiplied, and others will be blessed through you. My wife and I are a living testimony of this truth.

Beloved, when God asks for your resources, count it a privilege because He owns everything (Psalm 24:1). Haggai 2:8 says that the silver and gold are His. Psalm 50:10-12 also says that the whole world belongs to Him. If the Almighty God, who owns the world and its fullness, asks you to use your resources for His work, He is setting you up for great blessings. He owes no man, and those who willingly use their resources for Him become partakers of His endless resources.

HYMN: ‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL 10 NOVEMBER 2026 COMMENTARY

This is a topic that makes many people uncomfortable, yet it is one of the clearest ways we demonstrate our love and trust in God.

Today’s devotional, “He Needs Your Resources,” shows us that everything we have belongs to God, and when He asks us to release it to Him, He is not trying to take from us — He is setting us up for blessing.

Explore Faiths

Jesus Loves Us and Gave Himself for Us

The first lesson is the foundation of everything: Jesus loves us and gave Himself for us. John 15:13: “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his own life for his friends“. A man’s soul is so priceless that all the riches in the world cannot redeem one. How much more a sinless soul like Jesus Christ.

As a Christian, you must first know the magnitude of what Jesus did for you. The cross is the ultimate demonstration of love. Once you understand this, everything becomes easy. Giving is not out of fear, but gratitude. Forgiving is not out of obligation, but abundance.

If God Is Your Source, Do Not Withhold Anything from Him

Daddy says, “If He is really the source of everything you own, then you should not hold anything back from Him.” Haggai 2:8 says, “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.” Psalm 50:10-12 says the whole world belongs to Him.

It is easy to fall into the trap of thinking that our resources are the result of our own effort and intelligence. But the truth is that God gave you the health, the mind, the opportunities, and the strength to earn what you have. What are you holding back from God today? Your tithes? Your offerings? Your time? Your talents? If He is your source, nothing should be too much to release to Him.

When God Asks for Your Resources, He Wants to Bless You

John 4:10: “If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.” Jesus asked for Peter’s boat; he caught many fish and became fishers of men. God does not need your resources — He owns everything. But when you give, you position yourself to receive from Him.

So giving to God is not a loss — it is a seed. Every time you give to God, you are planting for a harvest. There is nothing you give to the Lord that will remain the way it is — it will be multiplied, and others will be blessed through you. So when God asks, don’t see it as a demand; see it as an opportunity. He is setting you up for a blessing you cannot contain.

The Joy of Giving to the One Who Gave All

If God is our source, we can release our resources with confidence, knowing He will multiply them. And when God asks for our resources, He is not trying to impoverish us — He is setting us up for a blessing beyond what we can imagine.

Examine your heart. Is there anything you have been holding back from God? Let the widow of Zarephath inspire you. The same God is inviting you to trust Him with what you have, and He will prove Himself faithful.

Action Steps

  1. Examine your giving. Take an honest look at your finances and time and ask yourself: Am I withholding anything from God? If not, commit to changing that this week.
  2. Give beyond your comfort zone. Look for an opportunity this week to give sacrificially — to God’s work, to someone in need, or to a ministry that is advancing the gospel.
  3. Trust God as your source. Write down a list of the ways God has provided for you in the past, and thank Him for each one. When you are tempted to hold back, remember His faithfulness and release your resources to Him with joy.

Prayer Points

  1. Father, I thank You for giving Your Son Jesus to die for me. Thank You for the greatest gift and for making me part of Your family.
  2. Lord, help me to love You more than my resources. Let my giving be an expression of my love for You, not an obligation or a fear, in Jesus’ name.
  3. Father, if there is anything I have been withholding from You, please reveal it to me. Give me the grace to release it joyfully, in Jesus’ name.
  4. Lord, help me to trust You with everything I have, knowing that You own the whole world, in Jesus’ name.
  5. Father, as I give to You and Your work, multiply my seed. Let my resources be used to bless others and advance Your kingdom, in Jesus’ name.
  6. Lord, open the windows of heaven over my life. Pour out a blessing on me that I cannot contain, in Jesus’ name.
  7. Father, let my giving be a testimony that draws others to You, and let nothing I give ever remain the same, in Jesus’ name.
