OPEN HEAVEN 19 JANUARY 2025 TODAY DEVOTIONAL
TOPIC: THE SOURCE OF ALL HELP
MEMORISE:
Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
Psalm 60:11
READ: Psalm 54:1-7
Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.
2 Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.
3 For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah.
4 Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.
5 He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth.
6 I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O Lord; for it is good.
7 For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.
RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 19 JANUARY 2025 TODAY MESSAGE
In Psalm 121:1-2, David said:
I will lift up my eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
This passage implies that help is always avallable with the One who made heaven and earth. The question is, will you seek your help from Him? In Psalm 46:1, David said, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” God’s help is ever-present, especially in times when you are in trouble. God is the helper of the helpless.
A lady was barren for several years, and her pastor had prayed for her continually, but nothing happened. One day, the pastor called her and said, “Woman, everybody I prayed for has given birth. What’s the issue?” The woman told him that when she was in secondary school, she got pregnant and tried to abort the pregnancy. In the process, she began to bleed badly and had to be taken to the hospital. In a bid to save her life, the doctor had to remove her womb. When the pastor heard this, he said, “You mean you have no womb? Why are you asking me to pray for you to be fruitful?” She then replied, “Sir, you are the one who taught us that with God, all things are possible.”
From that day onward, the pastor began to avoid her. She noticed it and decided to lift up her eyes to the hills, not to the pastor or the General Overseer, but to the Lord who made heaven and earth and who is always present to help. One night, she dreamt that huge man approached her, holding the skin of an animal. She was so terrified by the size of the man that she couldn’t move. As she was completely naked in the dream, the man came and wrapped the skin of the animal around her waist. When she woke up. she discovered that she was menstruating. By the time she was giving her testimony, she had given birth to five children.
Beloved, don’t look up to any pastor. evangelist, or General Overseer for help; rather, look up to the source of all help. Nobody can help you without God’s permission anyway. Rather than looking up to people, why not just go straight to the One whom they also rely on for help? Your Father
