Matthew:16.13
When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

So they said, “Some [say] John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

INTRODUCTION
Apostle Peter played a significant role in the history of the Church despite his background (Acts 4:13; 5:15). We want to learn some crucial lessons from his life and ministry.
TEXT REVIEW: MATTHEW 16:13-19.
Peter rightly defined the person of Christ which indicates that the Holy Spirit has enabled him to discover who Jesus Christ was.
This revelation elicited some pronouncements on Peter and the Church. Find out such pronouncements from Matthew 16:17-19.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND LESSONS FROM HIS LIFE/MINISTRY

i. Matthew 16:15-17——- First to catch the revelation that Jesus was the son of God.
ii. Mark 9:2-6 He was with the Lord Jesus at the mount of transfiguration.
iii. Acts 2:14,37,41——- He first led 3,000 souls to Christ. His other sermon led about 5,000 souls to Christ.
iv. Matthew 14:25-29——– Peter walked upon the sea by faith.
v. Acts 3:1-7—— He healed a lame man at the beautiful gate.
vi. Acts 5:14-16—— Highly anointed and healed several sick people.
vii. Matthew 19:29—– He left everything and followed Christ.
viii. Matthew 14:28-31; Hebrews 12:2—— Believers should keep their focus on Christ always.
ix. James 1:19; Colossians 4:6——- Believers should be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to wrath.
x. Hebrews 4:16—— Believers who genuinely confess and repent will receive forgiveness.
xi. Philippians 1:20-21; Romans 8:17—– Believers can glorify God in life and death (Philippians 1:20-21; Romans 8:17).
SUMMARY
Peter lived a good and exemplary life for believers to follow.
CONCLUSION
Christians should allow God to grow them like he groomed Peter from a baby Christian to the carrier of anointing.
