Cross Over Sermon into 2025: Stepping Into a Year of Divine Fulfillment
Theme: “Behold, I Am Doing a New Thing”
Text: Isaiah 43:18-19 (NKJV)
“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
Introduction
As we gather to cross over into 2025, we are reminded that every new year is a gift from God—an opportunity to reflect, refocus, and renew. Tonight, we stand at the threshold of a new season, ready to embrace the plans God has for us. The message for this night is clear: God is doing a new thing, and we must position ourselves to walk in His divine fulfillment.

1. Forget the Former Things
“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old.” (Isaiah 43:18)
Reflection:
To step into the new, we must release the past. The disappointments, failures, and even the successes of 2024 can weigh us down if we cling to them. God is telling us to let go of what was, so we can fully embrace what will be.
Application:
- Let go of grudges and unforgiveness (Ephesians 4:31-32).
- Release past failures and surrender them to God (Philippians 3:13-14).
- Trust that God can redeem every painful experience for His glory (Romans 8:28).
Declaration:
In 2025, I will not be held captive by my past. I choose to walk in the freedom Christ has given me.

2. Embrace the New Thing God Is Doing
“Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it?” (Isaiah 43:19a)
Reflection:
God is a God of new beginnings. He is not limited by time, circumstances, or human expectations. The “new thing” He is doing in your life will bring transformation, restoration, and fulfillment.
Application:
- Be attentive to God’s voice. Spend time in prayer and study His Word (Joshua 1:8).
- Prepare for change. God’s new thing may require stepping out of your comfort zone (Isaiah 42:9).
- Act in faith, even when the path seems uncertain (2 Corinthians 5:7).
Declaration:
In 2025, I will embrace the new thing God is doing in my life. I will step out in faith and trust Him completely.
3. Trust God to Make a Way in the Wilderness
“I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:19b)
Reflection:
The wilderness represents uncertainty, challenges, and dryness. Yet, God promises to create a road where none exists and to provide rivers in the desert places of our lives. This is a call to trust in God’s provision and guidance.
Application:
- Hold on to God’s promises during difficult times (Psalm 23:4).
- Trust that God’s ways are higher and His plans are perfect (Isaiah 55:8-9).
- Rejoice in the assurance that nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37).
Declaration:
In 2025, I will trust God to guide me through every challenge and to provide abundantly in every dry place.
4. Walk in Alignment with God’s Will
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105)
Reflection:
For God’s promises to manifest in our lives, we must walk in alignment with His will. This requires obedience, humility, and a heart that seeks to glorify Him above all else.
Application:
- Commit your plans to the Lord and seek His direction (Proverbs 16:3).
- Pursue holiness and righteousness (1 Peter 1:15-16).
- Stay connected to the body of Christ and serve faithfully (Hebrews 10:25).
Declaration:
In 2025, I will walk in alignment with God’s will, trusting that His plans for me are good and perfect.
5. Declare 2025 as a Year of Divine Fulfillment
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
Reflection:
God’s plans for 2025 are good. He desires to fulfill His promises in our lives and bring us into a season of abundance and purpose. As we declare His Word over our lives, we activate His power to bring it to pass.
Application:
- Speak life over your family, career, ministry, and dreams (Proverbs 18:21).
- Declare God’s Word daily and align your confessions with His promises (Job 22:28).
- Anticipate testimonies of His goodness and faithfulness (Psalm 126:3).
Declaration:
In 2025, I will see the fulfillment of God’s promises. I declare that this year will be marked by breakthroughs, blessings, and divine favor.
Call to Salvation
Before stepping into 2025, it is important to ensure your relationship with Christ is secure. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, tonight is the perfect opportunity.
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
Pray:
Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner in need of Your grace. I believe You died for my sins and rose again for my salvation. I surrender my life to You and ask You to be my Lord and Savior. Amen.
Conclusion
As we cross over into 2025, let us go with hearts full of gratitude, faith, and expectation. God is doing a new thing, and He will guide us every step of the way. This is our year of divine fulfillment. Let us walk boldly into the new year, trusting in the One who holds our future.
Benediction:
“May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)
Amen. Happy New Year! 🎉
