TOPIC: AMOS.

TEXT: AMOS 5:4-6.
4 “For this is what the LORD says to the house of Israel: ‘Seek me and live,
5 but don’t seek Bethel. Don’t go to Gilgal, and don’t pass over to Beer-sheba. Because Gilgal will surely go into captivity, and Bethel will come to nothing. Amo 4:4 [Amo 8:14]
6 ‘Seek the LORD and live! Otherwise, he may break out like a fire in the house of Joseph and devour Bethel, and there will be no one to extinguish it.
TOPIC: AMOS.

MASSAGE:

There is no peace outside of God. Israel experienced great prosperity but at the same time was very corrupt. They misused their wealth and indulged in sinful and luxurious lifestyles. They practiced wickedness, worshipped idols and evoked social vices in the land. Thus, Amos called unto them to seek God in repentance and live, lest they face his judgement. He cautioned them to act justly, do good and worship God in the right way. Our generation is filled with social vices like drunkenness, adultery, idolatry, fetishism and so on, yet we are without remorse. This message is timely for you today. Do not keep playing religion, heed God’s call and you will be renewed to enjoy His mercy, forgiveness, abundant life and life eternal.
REFLECTION:
When you search after God you will find Him.

PRAYER:

I earnestly yearn for you Lord. Amen.
MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH: 3 JOHN 11.
Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. The person who does what is good is from God. The person who does what is evil has never seen God. Psa 37:27 Isa 1:16 1Pe 3:11 1Jn 3:6.
