It was founded in 1989 by Dr. Daniel Olukoya, and has since grown to become a significant presence in Nigeria and other parts of Africa. MFM emphasizes prayer and fasting, and the importance of living a holy and Spirit-filled life. The organization also runs a number of social and charitable programs, including schools, hospitals, and orphanages. Dr. Daniel Olukoya is a Nigerian Christian minister, author, and the founder and General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), an evangelical ministry based in Lagos, Nigeria. He is also the president of the Prayer Institute at the MFM headquarters. Dr. Olukoya is known for his teachings on prayer and spiritual warfare, and has authored numerous books on these subjects. He is a highly influential figure in the Pentecostal movement in Nigeria and beyond.
