SUMMARY OF LESSONS 13-18
LESSON THIRTEEN (13)
TOPIC: THE IMPORTANCE OF THE LOVE OF CHRIST
BIBLE TEXT: Luke 19:10
MEMORY VERSE: Ephesians 5:2: And walk in love, as Christ hath loved us.
INTRODUCTION: If Jesus had not died, nobody could have their sins forgiven. God must punish all sins because He is always right and fair. But God loves you so much that He planned this rescue mission and sent His son to suffer and died. Jesus loves you so much that He willingly took the punishment you deserve. The son of God loves me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20.
PROGRESSION OF EVENTS:
A. Excited that the famous miracle worker Jesus was coming through Jericho, a tax collector named Zaccheaus determined to see Him pass along the busy street.
B. People were everywhere all scrambling for a good spot Zaccheaus hurried ahead and climb the tree.
C. As He passed, Jesus purposely looked at Zaccheaus spoke kindly to Him.
D. By saying that He wants to spend time at Zaccheaus’ home, Jesus let everyone that knows that He accepted Zaccheaus.
E. Surprised, but very pleased, Zaccheaus quickly jumped down from the tree.
F. The offended Jews grumbled because Jesus was being a friend to a man theyview as a termible sinner.
CLIMAX: Zaccheaus was saved because Jesus loved him. He also loves you. The importance of His love is to give us salvation.
CONCLUSION: Zaccheaus became a changed man and he promised half his possession will be given to the poor to make things right by giving back four times what he has wrongly collected. And Jesus said to him, he is saved, because he repented.
CHALLENGE: In Luke 19:10, Jesus said “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. You that have received Jesus tell others about the importance of His love so that they can be saved from their sins.
INVITATION: Jesus showed His love to you by dying for your sins so that you can be saved. Receive Him today. Rom 10:13.
LESSON FOURTEEN (14)
TOPIC: RECIPROCATE GOD’S LOVE
BIBLE TEXT: Luke 7:36-50.
MEMORY VERSE: 1John 4:19: We love Him, because He first love us.
INTRODUCTION:
Do you have a friend you truly love?
What binds you with that friend?
Why do you love the friend?
Is it because he’she gives you things e.g. snacks, toys. play games, with you, runs and plays games with you. Assuming the friend refuse to share his things with you, will you still keep the friendship?
Jesus said in John 15:13; greater love hath no man than this than to lay down His ife for His friends. This is really a strong love and that is exactly what Jesus did for you and I, He demands our sincere love.
PROGRESSION OF EVENTS:
A. And one of the Pharisees desired him He would eat with him. And He went into the Pharisee’s house and sat down to meat.
B. Behold, a woman in the city, which was sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house brought an alabaster
box of ointment; (The woman was referred to as a sinner.) Who is asinner? He/she is someone that does wrong or a bad thing that makes God displeased e.g. lying. stealing, fighting. disobeying authority etc. Romans 3:23 says we are all sinners.
C. And stood at His feet behind Him weeping and began to wash His feet with tears and did wipe them, with the hair of her head, and
kissed his feet and anointed them with the ointment. She realized who Jesus is, that He is the son of God sent down to die for her sin because God loves her John 3:16 and gave Jesus. And Jesus came and died for our sins, He gave His blood for the forgiveness of our sins.
D. She came to show her love for Jesus and to have encounter with Him, so that her sins can be forgiven.
E. When the Pharisee saw it, he spoke within himself that Jesus did not know who she was, if not he would not let her touch him, for she is a sinner. But Jesus told him a parable about forgiveness and how one forgiven should show greater love. Vs. 40-47
CLIMAX: And Jesus said unto her, thy sins are forgiven and people there began to say within themselves who is this that forgives sin also vs. 43-49.
CONCLUSION: And He said unto her, thy faith hath saved thee: go in peace.
CHALLENGE: As a child of God, you must always respond to God’s love by obeying His word. John 15:14 “ye are my friends if ye do whatsoever I command you'”. The woman believed that Jesus is the Saviour and she
came to Him and showed her love and she got a greater blessing of peace.
LESSON FIFTEEN (15)
TOPIC: BE OBEDIENT TO GOD
BIBLE TEXT: John 14:15-24.
MEMORY VERSE: John 14:15: You are my friends, if you do whatsoever I command.
INTRODUCTION:
You may ask – How important is obedience to God? John 14:15 If you love me, obey my commandment”, From this passage you will realize that obedience is the true test of your love for God.
Obedience to God is living God’s word, if you want to enjoy being filled with the love of Jesus live by his teaching.
PROGRESSION OF EVENTS:
A. After Jesus’ supper in the upper room with His disciples. He told them that “if you love me, you will keep my commandment. Vs. 15. This word is not only for the twelve disciples, for everyone who believes in His Name and that
include you and me too. John 17:20. If Jesus is your Saviour, God wants you to show the love for him in obedience to His commands.
B. Jesus promised, they should ask His father to send them another comforter (Holy Spirit) that will help them to walk in obedience to His command. vs.16-17.
C. When it is difficult for you obey God’s word, your parent or teachers as God to give you help you by the power of the Holy Spirit to be able to do so.
D. Jesus said “A little while longer and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you will live, also for everyone who has received Jesus as Saviour from sin.
Rom 3:23 and has been cleansed by the blood of Jesus. Hebrews 9:13 will have everlasting life.
E. Jesus assured those that obey Him that “At that day you will know I am in My Father and He is in me vs. 20,
F. He who has My commandment and keeps them will be loved by My Father, and I will love him. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him. Vs, 21
Question: Who loves Jesus?
Answer: One who keeps His commandments.
Question: Who does the Father love like the son?
Answer: The one who loves the Son.
God makes a very special promise; He will reward those that love him.
Jesus promised to show up in a very special way, the Lord God will come and live inside us (John 14:21) Holy Spirit.
Question: How do you show that you love Jesus by obedience?
Answers: – Obey God’s word.
– Obey your parent,
– Obey elders,
– Obey your teachers.
CLIMAX: One of the disciple asked Jesus how is it that you will manifest yourself to us and not to the world?
He answered – If anyone loves me, he will keep My word, and My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make Our home with him vs. 22-23
CONCLUSION: Jesus said, he who does not love me nor keep My words and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father who sent me vs. 24.
CHALLENGE: If you have received Jesus into heart. God wants you to obey His commandments is an evidence of your love to Him. Trust God this week; obey His commands.
INVITATION: You cannot obey God word unless you have believed Jesus. Believe in Him today so you can begin to obey God’s commands John 6:47.
LESSON SIXTEEN (16)
TOPIC: BEAR FRUIT OF REPENTANCE
BIBLE TEXT: Matthew 3:7-9
INTRODUCTION:
Just as trees bear their fruit, so repentance is known by good works. If you have repented and accepted Jesus it will be evident by the way
you live, talk and do things The Bible says; “By their fruit we shall know them”. Mathew 7:16.
PROGRESSION OF EVENTS:
A. John the Baptist told the people to produce fruit of repentance(that is they should show by their ways that they have repented from their
sins and are changed people).
If you have received Jesus as Saviour, He wants you to bear fruit in your life.
B. What is fruit? (Let the children respond).
Fruit is sweat and fleshy product of tree or plant that has a seed that can be eaten as food.
C. To bear fruit of repentance is to begin to do good things instead of bad things you do before, to begin to let the light of God shine in you and by telling. This means that it is not enough to say I am a Christian or I go to church or I am a pastor’s child but you must behave as a child of God.
D. Abraham’s children are those who truly believe in Jesus. (Rom 2:28-29)
To bear fruit of Repentance you must:-
•Admit your sins.
•Believe Jesus died for your sins, was buried and rose the third day.
•Choose Him as your Saviour and live for His glory.
Even now the axe is laid to the root of the tree. Every tree that does not bear fruit shall be cut down. Accept Jesus and tell others about Christ and keep living as a child of God.
E. John said to them – do not think you can say to yourself “we have Abraham as our father” I will tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.
CLIMAX: The hearer asked John “what shall we do?” They wanted to change from their old nature. God wants you to change from bad to good by bearing fruit of repentance. Luke 3:10
John asked them to give to others and be satisfied of contended with what they have. Luke 3:11.
CHALLENGES: God wants you to bear good fruits always.
INVITATION: You need Jesus, Receive Him as your Saviour and Lord so that you can bear good fruits.
LESSON SEVENTEEN (17)
TOPIC: BEAR FRUIT OF CHARACTER
BIBLE TEXT: Gal 5:22-23
MEMORY VERSE: Proverb 21:8 – But as for the pure, his works is right.
INTRODUCTION:
Matthew 7:20 says “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them vs. 17. Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruits. God expects all His children to bear fruit of character.
PROGRESSION OF EVENTS:
– As a child of God according to Gal 5:22-23, we should bear fruits of the spirit which are:- Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. gentleness and self-control.
– A tree is known by its fruits, if you are child of a God and He lives in you, you will be like Him in your behaviour.
– Matthew 7:15-20 says Even so “every good tree bears good fruits, but a bad tree bears bad fruits.
– A good tree cannot bear bad fruits. Can a bad tree bear good fruit?
– Every good tree that does bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into fire. God is interested in you bearing good fruit and the tree that does not is wasted.
CLIMAX: Not anyone who says to me. Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
CONCLUSION: Many will claim that they are God’s children and that they are even doing things in the name of God, God will say to
them “depart from me you worker of iniquity.
CHALLENGE: 2 Timothy 2:19 says. “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having and this seal. The Lord knoweth them that are His. And let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. As a child of God continue to bear fruit of character.
INVITATION: Change from bad fruit to good fruit, bear the fruits of the spirit, by first receiving Jesus as you Saviour from your sins.

LESSON EIGHTEEN (18)
TOPIC: BE HIS DISCIPLE
BIBLE TEXT: Matthew 4:8
MEMORY VERSE: John 13:35: By this shall men know, that ye are my disciple, if ye have loved one to another.
INTRODUCTION:
he Bible says in Romans 10:17 that so faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
All boys and girls that want to be Jesus’ disciples must learn the word of God every day,
obey God’s word and live like Him every day of their lives.
PROGRESSION OF EVENTS.
A. And Jesus walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea for they were fisherman.
B. Then He said to them. “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.”
The way Jesus asked those two brothers to follow him so He can make them fishers of men, because He loves them and wants to make something good out of their lives. The same way God loves you and wants to make you good and useful. God creates and He loves you, He also knows what is best for you. You can only be what God wants you to be, if you follow Him. How do you follow Jesus? By obeying the word of God and doing His will,
walking in His ways.
C. They immediately left their nets and followed Him. They obeyed immediately as Jesus spoke to them. Today Jesus is calling you to
follow Him. Will you obey immediately like Peter and Andrew?
CLIMAX: Going on from there He saw other two brothers James the son Zebedee with their father mending their nets. He called them.
CONCLUSION: And immediately they left the boat and their father and followed Him.
CHALLENGE: If you are a child of God and want to be a disciple, God wants you to hear and obey Him every day of your life. There are so many things out there that can hinder you from hearing and following Jesus such as computer games, toys, television, bad friends, food etc. They are good but do not love them than Jesus. Remember Peter, Andrew left their boat, James and John left their boat and father to follow Jesus as soon as they heard His voice, John 10:27-28 says “My sheep hears my voice and I
know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
As Jesus disciples, He wants you to follow closely so that you can hear his voice clearly. To follow Jesus closely, you need to read or hear the word of God every day.
