BIBLE TEXT: Matthew 11:27
[27]All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
MEMORY VERSE: 1 Corinthians 8:6 “But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him”.
CENTRAL TRUTH: God the Father is the first person in Trinity and all things exist through Him.
INTRODUCTION: The earthly father is the head of the family and has responsibilities toward every member of the family. The father is an important Source of our genetic make-up. As the earthly father leads other members of the family, so God the Father does. The title ‘Father’ signifies God’s role as the life-giver, the authority, and Powerful protector, Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent, with infinite power and charity that goes beyond human understanding. God the Father is the supreme ruler of the whole universe. Everything in the heavens and the earth is subject to His authority.

B. GOD AS A LOVING FATHER The apostle Paul tells us in Romans 8:16 – God reveals Himself to mankind in the role of a Father in several contexts. The most important is that of a spiritual Father. God expresses all the qualities
of a loving Father.

C. HERE ARE SOME CHARACTERISTICS OF GOD THE FATHER:

1. He gives us life (Acts 17:25; 1 Timothy 6:13).
2. ………………………………. (John 3:16).
3. He rewards our efforts (Luke 6:35; Hebrews 11:6).
4. He communicates with us through His Word (John 17:17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13).
5. He allows us to communicate with Him through prayer (Matthew 6:9; Colossians 1:3).
6. ………………………….. (Hebrews 12:3-11).
7. He desires to grant us the ultimate gift-eternal life in His family (Roman 6:23; Titus 1:2) – if we repent of our sins and obey Him (Acts 2:38).
LIFE APPLICATION: If you have not yet experienced God as a personal, caring. loving Father, then you have much to look forward to. To learn more about who God is and how you can become His child. God is our Father not only in that he is our Creator but that he is also our Redeemer; this is what distinguishes the Christian’s relationship to God and what allows us to relate to him as Father.
CONCLUSION: God the Father is the Supreme Being in whom we believe, whom we worship, and to whom we pray. He is the ultimate Creator, Ruler, and Preserver of all things. He is perfect, has all power, and knows all things In Christianity, God is known as God the Father, God our Father, and God the Father of Jesus. It is through these truths of a relationship with our creator that God is seen as a father over all creation and personally to believers through
grace. Scripture says God’s ways are “perfect” (Psalm 18:30), that He is a “faithful God who does no wrong,” and is “upright and just” (Deuteronomy 32:4). That makes Him the perfect Father. God the Father wants to have a close, “father-child” relationship with us.
