OPENING PRAYER
Father Almighty, You are Worthy to be Praised. King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Unchangeable Changer; Thank You.
Thank You thus far You have helped us; Thank You because our Future is in Your Hands. Please, accept our Thanks in Jesus Name.
Having helped us thus far, we are sure that You will help us till the very end.
So, all Your Children who are listening to Your Words today; Please let their Future be alright.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.
Well, let Someone shout Hallelujah – Hallelujah!
We are continuing with our Series: “GOING HIGHER” and now we are in Part 58. Our Bible Text today will be 1 Kings 19: 15-17.
1 Kings 19: 15-17
15. And the LORD said unto him (The Lord said), Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be King over Syria:
16. And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be King over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be Prophet in thy room.
17. And it shall come to Pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay.
Well in the Past weeks, we have been talking about God asking Elijah some Questions – Elijah, why are you here? What are you doing here?
… The Teacher asking the Student Question; not because the Teacher doesn’t know the Answer, but wanting to hear what the Student has to say.
And Elijah had answered – He had told God that: Well I am, because Your People told God that: I’m the only Prophet left and they even want to kill me.
Finally, it is now the turn of God to respond and what God said is loaded with meaning.
God said that I see; that’s why you are here. Alright son, alright Prophet; will you Please be ready to do some Anointing Services for me? I want you to anoint two (2) Kings:
I. Hazael – Anoint him to be King over Syria.
II. Jehu – I want you to anoint him to be King over Israel.
By the way, some forty (40) days ago; you told me that you don’t want to continue – You asked me to kill you.
Well, before you die since you don’t want to continue; I think we better make an arrangement for your Replacement. And so, you have to anoint another Prophet to take over from you.
Well, Probably we will start our discussions on this Segment of our Study by looking at “ANOINTING”.
Anointing can be in Degrees – I mean there are Degrees of Anointing!
I’m sure that you know that Anointing is not the Holy Spirit – The Holy Spirit is a Person. Anointing is what flows from the Holy Spirit.
1. There is Anointing for Healing the Sick.
Mark 16:18 – The Almighty Jesus told the Disciples after He has told them that now He has gotten all Powers in Heaven and on Earth. He said from now on, you go ahead lay hands on the sick and they shall receive Healings (Mark 16:18).
In 1 Corinthians 12:9; the Apostle Paul revealed to us that Healing the sick is a Gift from the Holy Spirit.
As a matter of fact, he said that there are Gifts of Healing (Not just one).
And he explained more clearly by saying in 1 Corinthians 12:28 – He says there are Gifts of Healings.
That is: Sickness and Diseases differ and the Gifts that you need to do the Healings are also in difficult forms.
For Example: When Someone has Fever, the Anointing to heal Fever is not exactly the Anointing required to heal Cancer – The two (2) are different.
So, Healing for Headache cannot be the same as Healing for Hypertension.
… So, there are Gifts for Healings!
My Prayer for those of you who has been “Going Higher” over this long Period of time is that the Almighty God will make available to you all the Gifts of Healings.
2. There is Anointing for Performing of Miracles
In 1 Corinthians 12:10; Paul also told us that there is a Gift from the Holy Spirit for the Working of Miracles.
Now, when we talk about Miracles; Miracles are also in Categories:
I. Some Miracles are far, far shall we say more Spectacular than others.
In Acts 5: 12-16; when the Church began to grow; the Bible says that many Miracles were Performed by the hands of the Apostles.
However, they Singled out Peter – That in his own case, his Shadow was healing the sick and casting out demons.
… Miracles differ!
You yourself knows that during the Holy Ghost Services or Church Services and Somebody gets up and he gives a Testimony and when he finishes, he says Praise the Lord. The Hallelujah may be low.
And yet, some will give a Testimony and he even don’t have to say Praise the Lord when everybody jumps up and shout Hallelujah.
The one who says that he was travelling in a car, the tyre bursted and the car somersaulted four (4) times and he comes out without a Scratch; the Hallelujah will be Great no doubt.
But when a Brother gets up and he shows you that Robbers came to his house, they shot him six (6) times and he shows you the dress he was wearing and you see the bullet hole coming in through the dress and going out from the back of the dress. Showing you that the bullet Pass right through him six (6) times and he didnt shed a drop of Blood – Nobody has to tell you to shout and clap.
… Miracles are in Categories.
II. As a matter of fact, in Acts 19: 11-12; the Bible says that God Performed Special Miracles by the hands of Paul.
… So, there are Miracles and there are Special Miracles.
I Pray in the Name that is above every other names – Whatever kind of Miracles that you need; get it today in Jesus Name – Amen!
3. There is the Anointing for killing – I’m sure that will surprise you!
You see, the truth of the matter is that Healing involves killing!
Matthew 15:13; Jesus Christ said: Every Plant my Father has not Planted shall be rooted up.
When you heal Somebody whose sickness has been caused by a Virus; the Virus must die.
Every sickness is caused one way or the other by a Stranger to the body – Something that should not be there, that is there and causing the trouble. That thing must die!
When we talk about killing; it is a matter of what is it that dies; what is it that is killed!
In Acts 5: 1-11; the Church of God was Young and all of a sudden, the devil tried to introduce Hypocrisy into the Church through an Husband and Wife called Ananias and Sapphira. The two (2) of them were killed right inside the Cburch .
In 1 Kings 18:40; when Elijah had Prayed; Fire had fallen and the Nation had fallen on her face saying: Jehovah is God.
Elijah said: Get every Prophets of Baal and kill them.
Why? – So that they don’t start the trouble for the Nation again. They were the cause for the absence of rain for three and half Years. If we leave them, they will continue to do evil.
Everything that is going to hinder your Progress after God has delivered you from such things; they should die – Amen!
In 2 Kings 4: 38-41; the children of the sons of the Prophet were about to eat and they have Prepared food.
Unknowingly, one of the son of the Prophets had gone out, trying to gather some Herbs to put into the food to make it more Palatable. Unknown to him, he gathered Poison – Poisonous Herbs and mix it with the food they are cooking.
When it was time to eat the food, the sons of the Prophets discovered that there was death in the Pot.
And when they called on Elisha (And we will be talking about Elisha one of these days); he asked them to bring some flowers
He took the flowers in his hands and then spread it on the Pot and the Poison died.
I Pray this Morning that any Poison in your System will die – Amen.
Whatever, God has to kill so that you can continue to live Healthy, Strong, Progressing; without any hinderance; whatever God has to kill must be killed today – Amen!
4. There is Anointing for Multiplication.
In 1 Kings 17: 8-16; when Elijah came to the house of the Widow of Zarepheth; she had only one Meal left.
But through the Anointing of the Man who came visiting; that one Meal lasted for more than three (3) Years because the food was Multiplied everyday.
In 2 Kings 4: 1-7; when the Widow of one of the Prophets was heavily in debt; ran to Elisha for Help. He told her: Gather Empty Vessels and the ,title bottle of oil that you have, keep on Pouring.
She did and the oil kept on flowing and increasing until there was no room to contain more and then she stopped.
In John 6: 5-13; when the Lord Jesus Christ wanted to feed a crowd and there no food to feed them – Just the Lunch of a “Small Boy”.
That little food kept on Multiplying until everyone was fed and there was twelve (12) Basket leftovers.
In Acts 2: 1-41; Peter Preached a Sermon after the Day of Pentecost and the Church grew from one hundred and tweny (120) to three thousand, one hundred and tweny (3,120) in one Day – That is Multiplication and not Addition.
And so, I’m Praying for everyone of you listening to me today or reading now on the Label of DMC; by the Auction of the Holy Spirit upon me, everything Good in your Life will begin to Multiply – Amen!
5. There is Anointing for Fruitfulness.
In 1 Samuel 1: 9-20; Hannah who has been going to Shiloh for Years, contacted the Anointing of Eli – Go, the God of Israel grant your Request. That’s all the Man of God said.
That very Night, God answered Hannah and it wasn’t long that the Woman who was considered barren became the mother of not just one (1) but six (6) children.
Because after she brought the first one to the Man of God, the Man of God said again – God will give you more!
… There is Anointing for Fruitfulness.
In 2 Kings 4: 8-17; the Bible tells us that when the Shunamite Woman took care of Elisha; Elisha said to her one day – Within a Year, you will carry a son.
There were arguments – The Woman said: If you enjoy my food, why not just go?
But the Anointing in Elisha has gone forth and nine (9) Months later, the Woman was carrying a son.
In Luke 5: 1-7; Peter had fished All-Night – All his efforts were Fruitless until when the Almighty God stepped into his boat.
And with just one Word, the Man who was considered a failure, had so much fish that he needed Somebody else to help him carry the excess.
May I decreed in the Name of the One who has called me: Fruitless Efforts will end in your Life today – Amen!
6. There is an Anointing for Controlling the Heavenlies.
There is an Anointing that is beyond controlling just what is going on here now; there is an Anointing that can control the Heavenlies.
In Joshua 10: 10-12; Joshua said: Sun, stay where you are; Moon don’t move any further.
And according to the Word of God, it was so for almost a Whole Day.
In 1 Kings 17:1; Elijah said that I shut the Heaven; there will not be Rain until I called for it again.
7. In 1 Kings 18: 31-39; there is an Anointing for calling down Fire from Heaven.
8. There is an Anointing for calling down Rain again – Anointing for Reversing what you have already decreed.
9. It will be of interest to you before I begin to move to the close of the Sermon that the Anointing for Destroying is not even necessarily as big as the Anointing for Constructing.
You know that it could take you Years to build a house but it can take a Caterpillar minutes to Pull down the house.
For Example, just one word from Elisha: Naaman go to Jordan, dip yourself seven (7) times.
And Naaman went and had to dip himself seven (7) times before he was Cleansed.
But the Man now said to Gehazi in 2 Kings 5: 20-27 – The Leprosy of Naaman will cleave on you and within Seconds, he became a Leper; white as snow.
I don’t know how much of the Anointing that you want!
Since we are “Going Higher”; I believed that you will think about that and know what to Pray about today.
10. But really, the Crucial Issue in the Passage we have read today is that God was telling Elijah – It is time for your Anointing to Overflow!
There is an Overflowing Anointing!
Psalms 23:5 says: Thou Anointed my head with Oil, my cup runneth over.
I’m Praying for every Child of God listening to me today or reading now on the Label of DMC – Your Anointing will begin to Overflow.
ALTAR CALL
Now, as for those of you who have not yet given your Life to Jesus Christ and you have been hearing of Anointing and you want Anointing.
The Journey to Anointing begins with Repentance.
In Acts 2: 37-39, Peter said: Repent and be Baptised and you shall receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit.
So, if you will repent of your sinful ways, if you will surrendee your Life to Jesus Christ; if after that you will submit yourself to Baptism; then you can call on God for the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.
And once you have that, Anointing can begin to flow through you.
So, if you want to give your Life to Jesus Christ, will you Please bow your head and I will Pray for your Salvation.
If you will call on God and said: Lord, Please save my Soul, I want to be one of yours and I’m hungry for Your Anointing.
Cry to Him now as I Pray with you!
PRAYER FOR SALVATION AND CLOSING PRAYER
And so my Father and my God, I want to Thank You for Your Words.
I bless Your Holy Name because of all these People who has decided that Yes, we want to be Born Again; we want to become Children of the Living God; we want to repent of our sinful ways; we will now want to live a Life of Purity and Holiness.
Father, Please receive them, forgive them, let Your Blood wash their sins, give them a Brand New Beginning Lord; receive them into the Family of God and from now, let them serve you.
And not long from now Father, let them be Baptised in the Holy Spirit too.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen!
