As a young Christian believer of Christ, the importance of displaying a Christ-like character cannot be overstated.

Christian character goes beyond mere morals and legal correctness; it encompasses the manifestation and possession of the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5: 22-23).

As Christians, we are called to put off the old man (the flesh) and clothe ourselves in the full armor of God.

Additionally, bearing good fruits is an essential aspect of our Christian walk, as these fruits reflect our character (John 15:16).

As Christian ladies, it is crucial to understand that while youth and beauty may fade away, our character endures forever.

The Essence of Christian Character

1. Putting Off the Old Man and Putting On the Armor of God:
Young Christian women are called to shed their old ways and embrace the spiritual armor provided by God.

Ephesians 6:10-18 teaches us about the essential components of this armor, which include truth, righteousness, faith, and the Word of God. By doing so, young believers can walk in obedience and strength.

2. Bearing Good Fruits:
Fruitfulness is a significant aspect of Christian character. Galatians 5:22-23 outlines the fruit of the Spirit, such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Understanding and cultivating these virtues are essential in demonstrating Christ-like character.

Steps to Building Christian Character

1. Dressing Discreetly:
The Bible emphasizes modesty and the purpose of clothing. By dressing modestly, young Christian women can reflect their inner worth and glorify God through their appearance.

2. Understanding Your Worth:
Recognizing one’s worth in Christ is crucial in making wise decisions about relationships, setting boundaries, and saying yes or no to various aspects of life.

3. Defining Your Relationships:
Clarity and honesty are vital in dealing with the opposite sex. Young Christian women should seek to establish relationships based on godly principles and intentions.

4. Be intentional about your Christian growth.
As a young Christian lady, you must learn to make a stand on your intention to grow spiritually, defining clear goals and outlining the steps needed to achieve them, while actively addressing any obstacles that might impede your growth.

Keys to Facilitating Christian Growth

1. Surrender to God’s Will:
Always seek God first before taking the advice of others. Make His will be your will and hearken unto His voice. To hearken is different from listening. To hearken means to listen to details of instructions and follow them accordingly (Deuteronomy 28:1) Surrendering one’s will to God and seeking His guidance allows young Christian women to align their lives with His divine purpose.

2. Desire the Word of God:
Make a conscious effort to develop an insatiable longing for God’s Word. Study the bible regularly and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you into complete understanding of God’s will for your life.

3. Become a member of a Christian family.:
Forsake not the gathering of the brethren as being an active member of a Christian community and engaging with the Bible regularly facilitates spiritual growth and maturity.

4. Seek Godly Mentors:
Learn to model your life with the counsel of godly mentors. Consider some biblical female characters (Ruth 1:9-18, Esther 2:17, Esther 5:1-10, Dorcas in Acts 9:36). Let them motivate you to walk in unwavering Christian faith and grace.

CONCLUSION
As believers in Christ, the Bible serves as our ultimate standard, guiding us on the path of righteousness and helping us maintain God as our ultimate priority in life.

Do not make any man your god or priority (2 Timothy)
