TOPIC: BE AT PEACE WITH OTHERS

BIBLE TEXT: MATTHEW 5:6
[6]Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.
MEMORY VERSE: Colossians 3:15 “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.”
LESSON AIM: The children will learn to help bring others to God and to do their best to get along with everyone.
CHILD RELATED TRUTH: Children of God are peacemakers.
INTRODUCTION: What does it mean to be a peacemaker? (Allow students to answer.) A peacemaker makes peace. Peace means calm,
getting along, or nit fighting. When a country 1s in a time of peace, it means, it is not at war with any other country. Sometimes your mom may
ask you and your siblings to calm down and stop fighting so she can have some peace. She wants you all to get along. So a peacemaker is someone who helps everyone to get along without fighting.
PROGRESSION OF EVENTS: God talks to us from the bible about peacemakers.
1. God bless those who make peace by calling them His children (Matthew 5:9)
2. Jesus is the Prince of peace (Isaiah 9:6)
GOSPEL CONNECTION: Our sinfulness causes us to be “at war” with God; that is the wrong things we think, say, and do, cause us to be against God. We need someone who can solve our problem. We need someone who can save us from being an enemy of God. We need a peacemaker. And that peacemaker is Jesus. God, in His great mercy and love, sent his only Son, Jesus, to earth to right all the wrongs, to die for you and me, to take your punishment for sin,
and to overcome death by rising from the dead.
3. He wants us to be at peace with everyone (Colossians 1:19-20)
4. We make peace by loving our neighbours (Mark 12:30-31)
5. When we are focused on God, it is easier for us to be peacemakers
6. God wants everyone to be at peace with Him.
CLIMAX: Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord (Hebrew 12:14).
CONCLUSION: We make peace with God through the blood that Jesus shed on the cross.
CHALLENGE: When we ask God to forgive our sins and then do our best to follow Jesus and trust him, we will be at peace with God. God doesn’t want us to be his enemies. He wants us to be His Forever Friends!
More than that, He wants us to be His children. However, we must first receive God’s wonderful forgiveness before we can be at peace with Him. We need Jesus, our Peacemaker, to make peace with God for us. When we trust that Jesus died to take the punishment for our sins, He becomes our Peacemaker, which means we’re no longer enemies of God and in danger of eternal harm; we become His children and are safe in Him. Now, as you are now a follower of Jesus, be a peacemaker in school, at home, in bible club, and Sunday School. Always thank God for
making you a peacemaker.
INVITATION: The Bible says we are God’s enemies and you can only make peace with God with the blood Jesus shed on the cross to save you from your sins (Romans 5:10).
LESSON FORTY-ONE (41)

TOPIC: BE A SOUL-WINNER

BIBLE TEXT*: JOHN 4:1-42
MEMORY VERSE: PROVERBS 11:30 “the fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he that winneth souls is wise.”
LESSON AIM: children will express what they learned by telling others about what Jesus did for them.
CHILD RELATED TRUTH: God wants you to tell others about Jesus.
INTRODUCTION: in Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus commands us to tell other people about him. Telling others about Jesus doesn’t have to be difficult or complicated. We can say something as simple as, “let me tell you what Jesus did for me”. Sometimes it may seem scary to tell others about Jesus, but we have the Holy Spirit with us to guide us as we speak. Our actions allow others to see Jesus in us and thus show them the gospel.
PROGRESSION OF EVENTS:
1.Jesus decided to return to Galilee after preaching in Judea.
2.Jesus needed to go through Samaria.
3.while resting by the well after Jesus’ disciples went into the city, Jesus asked a Samaritan woman who came for water for a drink.
4.The woman was surprised that Jesus being a Jew spoke to her.
5.The woman misunderstood when Jesus told the woman if she knew who he was, she will ask for living water.
GOSPEL CONNECTION:
The only thing that can satisfy our souls is a relationship with God. when we decide to follow Jesus, the relationship begins. Then, we continually go to Jesus to satisfy our souls.
6.Jesus confronted the woman’s sinful condition by asking her to bring her husband.
7.Jesus told the woman that he was the Messiah when she trying to change the subject told Jesus that the coming Messiah will explain these things.
CLIMAX: the woman immediately believed Jesus I ran to the city to tell others about meeting the Messiah.
CONCLUSION: Jesus told his disciples that his greatest desire was to do his father’s work when they urged him to eat. A lot of the Samaritans believed that Jesus was the true Messiah based on the woman’s testimony.
CHALLENGE: We cannot live very long without water to drink. And we cannot live forever without Jesus. We cannot drink Jesus, but Jesus is saying he wants us to follow him to live forever. We often fill our time doing everything else except spending time with God. Because that is what we often do. Other than coming to church, God doesn’t fit in our schedule. We spend time doing everything else. We would much prefer spending time online, with friends, playing sports or video games, or whatever else you spend your time doing. As a follower of Jesus, you must spend time telling others about Him.
INVITATION: if you believe in Jesus, you will be saved then you will be able to tell others about Him. (John 3:16)
LESSON FORTY-TWO (42)

TOPIC: FELLOWSHIP WITH OTHER BRETHREN

BIBLE TEXT: ACTS 2:41-47
MEMORY VERSE: Matthew 5:16. “ let your light so shine before men, let me see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven”.
LESSON AIM:The children will learn to share the gospel with others.
CHILD RELATED TRUTH: God wants you to tell others about Jesus.
INTRODUCTION: Children! Have you ever experienced something so awesome that you just couldn’t wait to tell someone else about it? That’s exactly what our story is about today! After Jesus rose from the dead and was taken up into heaven, he sent the Holy Spirit to the disciples for the first time, God’s spirit actually dealt within people! How amazing is that? The disciples were so excited about Jesus that they couldn’t wait to start sharing the good news. Have you ever gotten good news that you wanted to share with others? What good news did the disciples want to share? They wanted to tell people about how Jesus died and rose from the dead to be the payment for sin. The disciples also wanted to share how Jesus wanted to welcome others into God’s Kingdom so they could experience a real relationship with God. That is definitely good news.
PROGRESSION OF EVENTS:
1.About 3000 people were saved that day as Peter witnessed by the power of the Holy Spirit (Vs 41).
GOSPEL CONNECTION:
Jesus is the savior of the world. He had earlier told his disciples when he was physically on earth with them that He had come to seek and save that which was lost (Luke 19:10). Jesus took the punishment of your sins so that you can someday live with him in heaven.
2.The disciples continue to meet together each day
3.Fear came upon the people as many signs and wonders were done through the apostles.
4.The people who believed, loved God and each other and shared things together.
5.They gather together and share bread in the temple and from house to house spreading the blessings of God.
CLIMAX: So the church could continue to grow that more and more people were believing in Jesus every day.
CONCLUSION: God uses his church to spread blessings.
CHALLENGE: if you are a follower of Jesus, you have the Holy Spirit living inside you to help you tell others about him. The Holy Spirit gives you the boldness to point others to Christ and to help you fellowship with others who are followers of Christ. This week, tell others about the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and invite them to fellowship with others in Sunday school and Bible club.
INVITATION: if you have not called on God to save you, you can do it right now (Romans 10:13)
LESSON FORTY-THREE (43)

TOPIC: FORGIVENESS

BIBLE TEXT: MATTHEW 18:21-35
MEMORY VERSE: James 2:13. “for he shall have judgment without mercy, that has showed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment”.
LESSON AIM: The children will know that Jesus forgave their sins for them to become citizens of heaven.
CHILD RELATED TRUTH: Forgive others for God to forgive you.
INTRODUCTION: We all do bad things; sometimes we are not kind to our parents, sometimes we take cookies without asking, and sometimes we do not play nicely with others. When we do something wrong it is called sin and when we sin, we need to ask Jesus to forgive us. Jesus always chooses to forgive us, and he wants us to forgive others too. Sometimes our friends do things that we do not like, and although these things can make us sad, we can forgive them.
PROGRESSION OF EVENTS:
1.Peter asks Jesus if he should forgive 7 times if his friend or brother should be mean to him.
2.Jesus answered that seven times is not enough to forgive but 70 times 7.
3.Jesus then explained that the Kingdom of heaven is like a man who wanted all his servants to pay back what they had borrowed.
4.as the king was going through the list, he found his servant who was going to him so much that he needed to sell the man and his household to pay him back.
5.The master felt sorry and forgave the servant when he begged for an extended time to pay the debt.
GOSPEL CONNECTION:
Colossians 2:13 -14 tells us that we have a record of charges or a list of things we owe God. We owe him because we sinned against him. Our sin has separated us from God, and we need to be made right with him. The problem is, we can never pay back our debt to God. Romans 6:23 says “for the wages of sin is death”. Thankfully, Jesus died in our place and paid our debt to God. So, Romans 6:23 goes on to say “but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord”. Since Jesus has paid the debt that we owe God, we can have eternal life. You should be grateful because you are free from the cost of sin, from the debts that you cannot ever pay.
6.This same servant had a servant in him money and refused to forgive or extend the time of payment and had him put in jail.
7.People heard what happened and told the master about the servant who refused to forgive.
8.The king was very angry with the servant and called him wicked for refusing to forgive his fellow servant, threw him in jail to be tortured until he is able to pay back.
CLIMAX: then Jesus ended the story saying that this is how your heavenly father will treat you unless you forgive your brother with all your heart.
CONCLUSION: if we don’t forgive people, it means we deserve the punishment of hell.
CHALLENGE: God wants you to keep on forgiving and to have mercy on others. He forgives us all the time for small and big things so why would we not forgive others just the same. It’s not always easy, but it’s what God wants you to do. Jesus wants you to keep forgiving even when they keep hurting your feelings full stop forgiveness can help you to be happy when you pray to ask Jesus for a forgiving heart to those who hurt and frustrate you. Cross your arms over your chest as a sign of forgiveness when someone hurts you.
INVITATION: Jesus died to have your sins forgiven call on him to be your Lord and savior (Romans 10:13)
LESSON FORTY-FOUR (44)

TOPIC: BUILD GODLY RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS

BIBLE TEXT: Philemon 1:1-25
MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 119:63 “I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts”.
LESSON AIM: Children will learn that they should always seek to please God by building a godly relationship with others.
CHILD RELATED TRUTH: Always live a godly life to please Jesus.
INTRODUCTION: What makes a person a good friend? (Give room for children to answer).
If you are a believer, the best friend you will ever have is Jesus. If you have good friends in this life, they are gifts from God. In 2 Samuel 18, Jonathan’s choice to be David’s friend revealed godly character traits. Jonathan was a Prince and would be the next king after his father Saul. He selflessly became friends with David who had been anointed as the new king. In our lesson today, we will see how believing in the Lord Jesus can make people build a godly relationship with others.
PROGRESSION OF EVENTS:
1.Paul imprisoned in Rome wrote a letter to Philemon a wealthy man, greeting him and other believers in Christ who gathered in his house.
2.Paul thanked God for the love and faith Philemon had for Jesus and all the believers.
GOSPEL CONNECTION:
In Christ was a key phrase that we marked in Philemon. Jesus is the only way to be made right before God. Before you can have a relationship with God the father you must believe in His son Jesus. The moment you believe you are protected from the punishment of sins because Jesus died on the cross in your place. The love God has for you made Him send Jesus to take the punishment for your sin by shedding his lifeblood and dying a shameful death on the cross for your sins to be forgiven.
3.Paul prayed that the fellowship of his faith may become effective through the knowledge of every good thing which is in him for Jesus’ sake.
4.That he knew that believers had been refreshed through Philemon.
5.Paul wanted Philemon to do something not because he had the authority to command him to do it but because of the faith they both had in Christ.
6.Although Paul was an old man, he was in prison not for committing a crime but for sharing the message about Jesus Christ.
7.That he asking Philemon to forgive Onesimus and accept him as he would he, (Paul).
8.Onesimus who was Philemon’s slave who had been separated from him for a while had become a follower of Christ in Rome and was extremely useful in helping him spread the gospel.
CLIMAX: Paul said by accepting as a friend, Philemon should accept Onesimus back not just as a slave but also as a brother and that will greatly encourage him because Philemon will not only be doing this favor for him in obedience but also as a brother in Christ.
CONCLUSION: Paul prayed that God would answer Philemon’s prayers of Paul coming to spend some time with him and also send greetings from those who were with him in Rome
CHALLENGE: As a child who already believes in Jesus as Lord and Saviour, you need to ask yourself whether you know what it is to build a godly relationship.
•Am I in Christ?
•Has anyone offended me that I have not forgiven? If not, why not?
•How often do I pray for other believers?
•Am I willing to obey God no matter where I am . A.Z to share the good news?
•Is there any group of people that I am not comfortable sharing the good news with?
•Have I ever shared the good news with another person and they believed?
INVITATION: If you choose to q was q~be in Jesus as Lord and savior, you will be saved (John 5:8)
