TOPIC: GODLY CHARACTER: A PATHWAY TO DESTINY FULFILMENT
SCRIPTURE: There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back anything from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? Genesis 39:9. Seeds of Destiny June 3 2023
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Character establishes trust; and trust facilitates opportunity for destiny fulfilment.
It has been established that character determines destiny fulfilment. Your character is a major determinant of your destiny. What you become in life is a product of your character. Your character either assists or resists your destiny. Your character can either make or mar your destiny.
Now, how does character determines destiny?
Character establishes trust, and trust facilitates opportunity for destiny fulfilment.
People would trust you if you have good character. They would trust you if money is safe in your hand. If you don’t have a bad name or reputation, people would easily trust you. And when people trust you, opportunities become effortless.
Having trust with people facilitates several opportunities that will assist your destiny fulfilment.
Concerning Joseph, Genesis 39:1 says,
And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmaelite’s, which had brought him down thither.
Joseph was bought as a slave, but Potiphar, his master put everything under his care because of his good character.
Even though Potiphar’s wife tried to seduce him, he refused to yield to that temptation. He left his cloth with her and ran out. When Potiphar returned, she lied against Joseph to her husband that Joseph wanted to sleep with her, and presented Joseph’s cloth to him as evidence.
You see, the evidence was true but the story was false. And as a result of that, Joseph could not defend himself, and so Potiphar had him thrown into the prison.
Even though Joseph was in the prison, he upheld his godly character. And by the power of that godly character, he excelled even in the prison until he got his freedom and became the prime minister of the whole of Egypt.
You see, Joseph’s destiny would have been cut short if he had yielded to the temptation of Potiphar’s wife.
This story aptly demonstrates the power and influence of character on destiny fulfilment.
My counsel is: by all means, make up your mind to uphold godly character.
Remember this: Character establishes trust, and trust facilitates opportunity for destiny fulfillment.
