TOPIC: My House Shall Be Called The House Of Prayer
(Scroll down for RCCG House Fellowship 9 January 2022 Anthem)
OPENING PRAYER: Father, let my house be called a place of prayer.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Leaders should ask members why we believers find it difficult at times to connect to the signal of the spiritual realm.
MEMORY VERSE: “And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.” – Matthew 21:13.
BIBLE TEXT: Matthew 21:12-17 (KJV)
12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
14 And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.
15 And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased,
16 And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?
17 And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.
LESSON INTRODUCTION: Prayer is the intimate communication with our father in heaven, it is the channel God has chosen for all his blessings to come into the life of His children. Satan dread nothing but prayer. His one concern is to keep the saints from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless person, but trembles when we pray. A house of prayer is a dwelling place of God. A place where a community of believers abide in perfect communion and intimacy with the One they call their Lord. Jesus declared that God’s house is not a market place, it is for calling on the Lord, that is, the atmosphere of God’s house is to be for prayer. It was Isaiah 56:6-7 that Jesus referenced when He cleansed the temple, Matthew 21:1-13, Mark 11:15-17 and Luke 19:45-46.

LESSON OUTLINE:
WHAT WAS JESUS REFERRING TO AS A HOUSE OF PRAYER?
- A building designed by God himself. 1 Chronicles 28.
- A place designed by God sacrifices, offerings and prayer. Isaiah 56:7.
- A dwelling declared by God to be where Gd would meet with His people. 2 Chronicles 7:15-16.
CONSEQUENCES OF A PRAYERLESS HOUSE OF GOD ARE:
- Little joy.
- No outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
- No experience of brokenness, repentance and humility in the life of the church.
- No power to convert souls.
- No burden to win souls.
- No revival
- Little evidence of brokenhearted, willing service.
ACTIVITY:
With all the negative things happening in today’s world, is God’s house still a place of prayer?.
CONCLUSION:
The Spirit of God is speaking the same words to us today. He is calling us to examine what we do in the house of God, whether good or bad, we should return to Him and join the army who are preparing the way for His return.
