INTRODUCTION
Sexual intimacy means a married couple (man and woman) share a special bond characterised by a shared sensual expression. They understand each other on a sexual level that has emotion behind it, instead of just being a physical act. Sexual intimacy generates pleasure and mutual satisfaction. It is an obligatory act in marriage. It is a complex expression of love and a desire to communicate such love non-verbally. It gives the husband and wife a chance to express all the good feelings and thoughts they have towards each other.

SOME FACTS ABOUT SEXUAL INTIMACY IN MARRIAGE
Sexual intimacy in marriage is neither dirty nor sinful (1Corinthains 7:2-5) and secondarily for procreation (Genesis 1:28). It is only in the context of a legitimate marriage that sexual intimacy is approved by God (Genesis 4;1). Satisfactory sexual intimacy provides the forum in which deep relationship is developed, not only physically but also psychologically and emotionally( Proverbs 5:15-20). It is a common pathway that provides an opportunity for care ,demonstration of love and the reciprocity of such (Song of Solomon 4:1-7). It should be a lifelong relationship for married couples ( Matthew 19:4-9). If approached correctly and are well arouse, both husband and wife can reach the level of sexual pleasure or excitement called orgasm(SOS. 1:2;7:3 ,Proverbs 5:19). Sex should not be withheld or demanded. If one spouse wants to have sex the other spouse should agree. It is all a matter of compromise to achieve intimacy (1Corinthains 7:4). Sex in marriage should not just be used for gratification or as a weapon of revenge. God designed the body to respond pleasurably to touch in certain areas. He could have made us with no desire for sexual intimacy and no gratifying sensations during sexual intimacy but He did not ( James 1:17).
BENEFITS OF SEXUAL INTIMACY IN MARRIAGE
There are several benefits of sexual intimacy. These benefits are started in the table below as it affects the man,his wife and the couple mutually. However, these are not medical advices but for educational purposes.
HUSBAND:
I. Reduces the risk of developing prostate.
ii. Reduces waist and scrotal pain.
iii. Increases sperm counts.
iv. Improves cardiovascular health.
v. Increases immunity and body fitness.
vi. Increases levels of testosterone.
vii. Promotes long life.
WIFE:
I. Improves bladder control.
ii. Relieves menstrual and pre-menstrual cramps.
iii. Improves fertility.
iv. Builds stronger pelvic muscles.
v. Helps produces more vagina lubrications.
vi. Potentially protects against endometriosis (the growth of tissue outside uterus).
vii. Improves the production of the hormone oestrogen which protects against heart disease and also determines a woman’s body scent.
COUPLE:
I. Regulates blood pressure.
ii. Burns calories.
iii. Strengthens muscles.
iv. Reduces risk of heart diseases, stroke and hypertension.
v. Increases libido and reduces inordinate affection.
vi. Promotes better sleep and headache relief.
vii. Emotionally boosts confidence, increases happiness, level of trust, intimacy and love.
viii. Improves ability to perceive, identify and express emotions.
ix. Reduces stress and makes couples look younger and live longer.
x. Helps create a bond between the husband and his wife.
